Allenby is not in the best form of late. His fairways hit are down, however he still has an awesome short game. Adam Scott had played the US courses the best out of all the Aussies (Appleby not far behind) over the past 2 years. Although he has only put himself in contention in the US majors once in his career, I think he is definitely due, and would be Aust's best hope. Having said that, I will not be backing him.

My tip is back-to-back Masters for Lefty Mickelson. Putting has been sensational, his distance off the tee and iron strokes will not be challenged a great deal by Augusta's tightness and length, and he is in great form.

Scott Verplank would be my roughie. He's extremely steady off the tee, and has a very handy short game, which would suit Augusta's tough greens. He has been thereabouts for a couple of years, but is yet to break through. David Toms is another roughie to have something each-way on. He's back in good form, has been a major winner before, and would love the loud, boisterous US galleries cheering him on.

Equal favourite championship of the year, alongside the British Open. Really looking forward to it.

How bad was tiger, on the green for two then putts eagle attempt off the green into the hazard and takes bogey lol

Then from bout a 100 out hits the flag stick to see it bounce into the bunker had to laugh

Of the Aussies Sturt Appleby great start :)

Mark Hensby goes alright for an ex-postie!

Allenby's putt from 3 feet that rolled down to the next tier to lie about 60 feet from the pin was just as bad if not worse than Tigers. Tough conditions out there, mind you, these greens were damp from the rain this morning. They'll only get quicker as the championship goes on.

Goosen looks steady at the moment, and he loves fast greens. May be one to watch. Happy to haved backed Phil though.

My parents went to the Masters this year. I guess it is their luck that it would rain.

I'd be very surprised if Goosen never won at Augusta. One of the best putters I've ever seen and has the temperament required.

We have a bit of a punters club at work and one of the guys betting this week put $25 on Goosen to finish in the top 5. I think he got a bit better than 4 to 1 odds.

He's an excellent all-round player but as you stated it's his putting and temperament that really stands out.

Woods is tearing the course up. Four birdies in a row now, finishing off the 3rd round. DeMarco double bogeyed and in one hole, the lead has gone from 4 to 1.

Woods should do it from here.

Poor effort champ.

There is no tv coverage so didnt really want to know the scores.

Getting up at 4.30 am once tv coverage kicks off and was hoping to see scores and catch up on it fresh then.

Cheers

jesus, spoke too soon. another hole, another birdie. He's -7 for the third round through 11 holes, while DeMarco is -1. Both at -11. Thomas Immelman, tied for 4th went -5 in the 3rd round for the holes that Woods is coming up to.
