That said, I dont want to get drawn into the shooters politics. Left or Right, the cause of this shooting is an intersection of rising extreme levels of political polarization in a nation that is democratically backsliding, extreme levels of gun violence and ease of obtaining a firearm, and gender.

I only include the last cause (gender) as the shooter is a male, as they are in 99.9999 percent of the cases when this shit occurs.

We're teaching our men and boys that violence is the answer to an 'existential threat'. Starting with literally every Hollywood action movie, ever, the glorification of the Military etc. We wind up with a world where young men and boys are lashing out violently at 'the enemy' in mass shootings, in political and religious extremism, and in the home.

That's a problem, that just seems to be accepted and glossed over all too often.

You need to understand that socialism (as in 'public ownership of the means of production') is not necessarily left or right wing.

For example, I (as President) could order the State take ownership of all private property and seize total control of the means of production'. This makes me (and the State) a Socialist State.

I could then order all Women disenfranchised, and all Jews, LGBTIQ+, disabled people etc locked up in extermination camps, while I simultaneously establish an elite ruling class of hetero white men.

(Basically, what Hitler did).

It's the former position that makes me a (far) Right winger, even though I'm literally expressing those reactionary, racist, patriarchal, sexist, discriminatory policies in a Socialist State.

As for raising boys to embrace violence, I would suggest that the opposite is true. Decades of convincing boys that violence isn't the answer seems to have led to an increase in extreme violence. Fighting amongst boys was seen as normal up until the 90's, since then there has been an explosion in violence.

There are some distinctions between the two, and both are loathsome failures and invariably lead to tyranny.

Left wing politics opposes hierarchies and supports egalitarianism.

Right wing politics supports hierarchies, seeing them as desirable or natural.

Socialism is often advanced by many on the Left, because those idiots see it as a way to ensure equality for all.
