That's locally. Trumps Trade war hurts us. Interest rates are going to increase, and we're going to lose 12 billion in mining exports.

Here is what News.com (Murdoch) has to say about them:

EasternTiger

I get you support Trumps social policies (on migration, LGBTI issues, and 'the woke agenda') but his economic policies will be bad for Australia (and the USA).

Yet you're sitting here cheering on a foreign leader, who is about to enact policies that will make life more expensive for your average Australian.

You do get that right?

Even if we don't get hit with tariffs directly, inflation is set to rise here in Oz, and shit is about to get a lot more expensive.

Remind me again why you cookers here in Australia support this?

Nonsense

The RBA and all the worlds' economists are wrong?

The last Trump Presidency/ Trade war caused a 20-billion-dollar deficit in Australia's budget:

Three years ago, two-way tensions in Australia-China diplomatic relations spilt over into what effectively became a one-sided trade war, effectively blocking more than $20 billion of Australian exports.

Australian producers of barley, beef, wine, lobsters, and coal were casualties caught in the political crossfire.

This shook the confidence of Australian businesses in other categories, as well as Chinese distributors, as no one wanted to be caught out as part of the next sector to be targeted.

A new report, Standing up to Chinese economic coercion: Is Australia a model of economic resilience? published by the University of Adelaide’s Institute for International Trade (IIT), analyses the costs of those bans to the end of 2022.

Commenting on the findings of the report the University of Adelaide’s Professor Peter Draper, Executive Director of the Institute for International Trade said: “The costs to Australia of China’s formal and informal bans has been significant: billions of dollars’ worth of potential trade has been lost.”

“Furthermore, future costs will be significant if relations, while improving, remain strained and difficult.”

Luckily commodity prices were not caught up so we were able to still make money off Iron ore from over here in WA (contributing to Western Australia's 3-billion-dollar budget surplus).

Not only were we caught up in the Seppos trade war, it escalated into diplomatic spats, with Chinese officials posting the following image:

Just so we're clear, this is what we're going to get. Expect the price of Chinese shit to increase (thanks to tariff imposition, and reduced demand), which will have a negative impact on inflation at home.

But I guess you know better than literally every single economist in the world, and missed the impact of the last trade war in Australia.

On a positive note, our leftie friends have gone from “Trump Is Hitler” to “Trump cost us $2000”

Never said Trump is Hitler. I have said that there are a number of similarities between the two, but some clear differences as well.

Hitler was a better orator, and even more nativist than Trump, he was openly antisemitic (Trump just parrots antisemitic conspiracies; I don't think he actually is antisemitic, he just does it to appeal to cookers) and Hitler was only in the game because he (wrongly) believed he was doing the best for Germany (whereas Trump is in the game to reward his cronies and make a ton of money).

Hitler was also a tea-totaler who distanced himself from women.

National socialism is a very different beast to Trumpism as well (although again, they share some similarities in their right wing populist, nativist and anti-Marxist/ socialist and anti-bourgeoise rhetoric).

Trump will cost Americans money though. Everything made in China (so every phone, most TVs and Computers, many clothes etc) are about to get much more expensive.

Even if his plan works, and this breathes some life into American made stuff (making it more competitive) the prices of that American made stuff wont go down, it's just its now competitive with the cheap shit from China which now costs more.

That’s the price of world peace.

We will all have to tighten our belts and possibly cut down on designer handbag purchases.

Interested why you posted the soldier killing the baby bit?

The Chinese tend to act like campaigners, I get it. You could have still pushed your fear mongering angle and just deleted that section.

Was that something you and your mates were discussing over on 4chan?

That’s the price of world peace.

He's appeasing Putin by giving him half of Ukraine, emboldening him to attack more European nations, he's pissing off the Chinese by instigating a Trade war with them, and he's forcing European nations to re-arm (the last two times they re-armed, we wound up in WW 1 and 2), while proclaiming a more isolationist USA.

None of that is good for world peace.

This pommy leftist rag has a more favourable view of Gaetz than every lefty on Bigfooty.

Biden has already done what you fear Trump will do.

The cost of living has gone up under his watch and his latest stunt with the long range missiles has pushed us closer to WW3.

Surely you don’t believe Kamala was going to fix the mess?

And you didn’t answer my question about that disturbing detour you took with the baby killer.

Blaming that on Trump?

I didn’t know when the allegations were from. Gaetz is 42 and the comment I read on some YouTube video that was from CNN (I think) said that they thought that he was 18. This made me wonder whether it was an historical allegation as I couldn’t find from when it was alleged that he slept with a 17 year old.

Knock me down with a feather, Lebbo is 100% wrong again.

I'm beginning to doubt your sources of information.

In all the pictures I never saw him taking a bite. He looked distinctly unhappy at having his picture taken with it all in front of him.

Yeah, you think that's how the US general public perceive it? It's far more likely that they see 4 of their heroes doing it and feel it's an appropriate choice. Like hating on their Muslim neighbours, it's been ratified in their minds.

But you keep doing the mental gymnastics to justify it, because that seems to be your bias. (Yes, with RFK you soften it by repeating your misgivings about his stance on vaccines).

Are Billionaire bankers good or bad now?

For you MAGA hypocrites, the answer is entirely dependent on which side of politics they support.

Bad - Soros, Gates, "Rothschilds", "Black Rock"

Good - Elon, Bezos, Vivek

I realise you put the qualifier 'bankers' there so it could then be aimed only at Soros and exclude Elon, etc. Or did you have other billionaire bankers in mind?
