I think Newsom is done for as far as a potential candidate for 2028. He wont recover for this. Its not like entirely his fault but its still going to be pinned on him.

I think he was in the hunt BUT his odds were dwindling. 12 months ago id have said he was front runner but its been a bad 12 months. This is more the "no chance at all" now situation .

Id argue he will be phased out off the party completely also

It's just an extension of their problem for a few years now - they just don't have a charismatic leader who can unite the rank and file.

They had one in 2015, and stupidly overlooked him for Hillary. Their SuperPacs have a lot to answer for.

Lord Mayor cutting 20 million in fire fighting budget while being in Ghana for a Presidential ceremony at the same time the fires were kicking off (so she knew it had started but had spent 36 hours in Ghana still) is just disgraceful.

Under zero circumstances anywhere in the world can you just cut the fire fighting budget. It needs increasing every single year without question.

The aesthetics of it combined with the budget changes is kinda the worst political move ive seen in a while from that local government area. Its 100x worse then anything Scott Morrison did..

It's a nice sentiment, but the parties do work together on bipartisan bills only to have a Trump-Elon coalition block it.
The funding Bill more recently, and the bipartisan border Bill last year that Trump ordered torpedoed because he wanted a vote winner rather than a solution.

The Dems have at least committed to an orderly transfer of government, which basically every US government bar one has actually done.
