Why would these vehicles need to be tested by the California authorities before they could join the fire fighting effort?
What tests are they conducting on them? Safety? Emissions? Surely if they meet the requirements in their home state they're good enough to be in Ca temporarily to fight fires?

This was debunked before you even posted it.

What was debunked? My questions? You're being absurd.

The tweet I posted was genuine and in fact I came across it when a link to it was posted by someone who was defending his claim in a tweet that they had stopped in Sacramento, from lefty lunatics saying they hadn't. I don't think it was unreasonable of me to ask the questions I did considering it appears the trucks were fine to drive from Oregon to Sacramento, but were then required to submit to vehicle checks before proceeding further. The fact is these aren't quick checks on Fire Trucks and there were 60 of them. Brake checks require disassembly. I'm not so sure what's involved with the suspension checks.

When you don't even have the presence of mind to spell the name of the location central to your ramble correctly, why should anyone else take you seriously?
lol

A bit hard to come up with an actual on-topic argument rebutting his point wasn't it :tearsofjoy:

Let us know when Present Not Past has been elected POTUS I guess

The 'environmental testing' line is straight out of the conspiracy misinformation tweet-sphere. Thus why the Oregon Fire Marshall had to respond to it.
The question was why were they being tested. You provided an answer to the question, which was good. It's because of people like you that facebook has had to ditch fact checkers. You just go around accusing people of spreading misinformation when all they did was ask an honest question.

The steps to preventing that scenario should have been taken long before it became the firefighters problem.
According to an anonymous tweet. Probably one of the Mayor or Governor's army of face saving shills. Governments typically auction vehicles only a few years from new. So it still had considerable value. We have no proof it was replaced in an environment of budget cuts.
Amazing what MAGA randoms are experts in. Add firefighting and government vehicle management to the list I guess :tearsofjoy:

Yep and apparently they should empty and close down reservoirs for repairs during the summer fire period.

Simple fact is that building in one of the most fire prone areas on the planet has consequences. More houses in the environment that is SoCal simply means less ability to manage fires.

Maybe this time after the last three remaining insurance companies stop insuring houses the area will become the exclusive domain of the "rich and famous" who don't have to worry about petty little issues like skyrocketing insurance.

The fires are a inevitable consequence of allowing for excessive development in a intensely dangerous fire prone location.

Edit - too late - I see that Newsom has already agreed to loosen planning regulations to allow for rebuilding.

Ahh minor point I know but Southern California doesn't have "forests" - it has coastal sage scrub and thousands and thousands of highly flammable houses.
Mate, Stokey grew up in country Vic, he is therefore an expert in Californian fire prevention :tearsofjoy:
