Went to the Super Bowl in Feb 2015 - New England vs Seattle in Phoenix. Ticket back then cost A$3,600- and was on the lower level in an end zone corner.

The greatest sporting experience ever (inc the couple of days up to it). Just amazing and a memory you won’t forget.

How'd you find the actual game? I'm not an NFL fan aside from playing Madden in my 20s and found the game a complete drag. All the other stuff was cool.

NBA and NHL was far more enjoyable in terms of the actual sport.

USA is safe as ever at the moment. Despite what the left-dominant media would lead you to believe, nobody gives a toss about the impeachment proceedings. Rightly or wrongly, Trump will be re-elected late next year, without a doubt. The past few days have only confirmed that.
Why anyone would have an interest in politics let alone international politics, boggles my mind.

Interestingly NFL is much higher in popularity than both the sports you mentioned. Much more entertaining sport.

That doesnt really mean anything. I would suggest that more people in the world find it boring than those that find it entertaining. Using your logic, that makes it boring.

Love the game and find it even better live. Seen a few games live in the US. Consider it like a game of chess on a football field - very strategic.

The pre-game with tailgating is great as well. A great tradition.

Do you like cricket?
Yeah I like cricket. I'm just not an NFL fan so was trying to separate the game from the entertainment side of things.

As an example, I enjoyed the last time I went to the NBL, but as an actual game, it was error ridden and below standard. I dont like the NBL for that reason and as an NBA fan, it doesnt compare... My question was more around, would a non NFL fan enjoy the superbowl experience as much as an NFL fan, given you called it the greatest sporting experience ever.

Personally I'd prefer to see a Champions League final or the 100m sprint at the Olympics (among other things). Would the way the Super bowl is done, change this or would the actual non enjoyment of the game detract from the experience?

The Super Bowl, the game, is at the end of a week long festivities. It has entertainment before and at halftime but that isn’t the main game. It is no different to any other sport where the final game of the year can be a boring, one sided affair.

You need to remember I probably saw one of the greatest Super Bowls ever (SB 49 - Patriots vs Seahawks) - an enthralling entertaining contest that was decided only in the last 26 seconds. I remember getting text messages from people in Australia during the game who don’t normally watch the game but we’re watching this one from start to finish. The same went for the SB51 and SB52 whilst last years was one for the purists and I said the average punter would have been bored but I was enthralled.

I would recommend anyone to go to one.

I have also been to a Stanley Cup final - Vancouver Canucks vs Boston Bruins in Vancouver 2011 (Game 2) - and that was great as well and the after game festivities were chaotic.

Paid $3,800- for SB49 ticket and $880- for Stanley Cup final - both memorable and will remember until the day I die.

Fairly long bow you're drawing there. Almost as though you wanted to be outraged...
I am outraged at people who dont bother to engage in politics let alone those who ridicule those who do. The world you live in was created solely by people who were interested and participated in politics and it can very easily dramatically change if you dont participate. If you dont engage you are a free rider whos life is at the whimns of others. Show some maturity and do your part. If not for yourself then your family and friends.

What an utterly ridiculous post. Not the forum to get into a debate about it, but if that is your view it says a whole lot more about you than anyone else. You've leaped from A to C and then leaped some more.

I will just say that I didn't ridicule anyone. I said I'm baffled by those that are right into politics. I am also baffled as to why anyone would use social media such as Instagram and facebook - of which my wife is one. She knows I find it baffling, but certainly doesn't consider that to be me ridiculing her.

In terms of maturity, your initial response to my first post has lacked it more than anything else.

Used this thread back in the day for advice, approx 2 years later should probably (try) contribute something of value lol

Did a working visa in Canada, based in Jasper first year Lake Louise second year. Between jobs did a road trip, roughly the "grand circle" and went to Hawaii on the way back to Aus.

Jasper is imo better than Banff, but some people prefer Banff, it's close either way. The main difference is Banff is much busier and better for people who aren't fit enough to do moderate hiking (retirees for example). The sights are different obviously but it's all beautiful.

Road trip was Vegas - Zion - Bryce - Capitol Reef - Moab - Mesa Verde - Santa Fe - Grand Canyon - Vegas - Death Valley - Mojave - Vegas. Went in early November for a month with 9 people (mostly, 2 cars).
Zion and Bryce at minimum you need to do a half day hike. Otherwise you are kinda missing out. Angels landing in Zion is not scary at all. Subway hike (hike by permit only with 20 per day) was a hidden gem.
Capitol Reef and Arches hiking gets you away from the crowds but you get a pretty similar experience just going to places that are max 45 minute walk return. Moab itself is quirky good.
Canyonlands was the place I most wanted a 4WD. Without one you get the impressive views from the top but I think being able to drive at the bottom would be on another level.
Mesa Verde you drive around the park. You have to like unusual and historic buildings. I do and loved it.
Santa Fe doesn't have anything really going on except for Meow Wolf, but that on its own was worth it. Statistically has one of the highest crime rates in the US but no one in my group had to deal with anyone (We also didn't go out at night so.....).
Grand Canyon is a place you truly cannot appreciate unless you go there. The scope is unlike anywhere else I've been.
Death Valley and Mojave you have to like desert landscapes. Mojave desert preserve actually has more Joshua trees than Joshua tree NP, but the ones in Joshua tree NP are slightly taller.
Vegas was surreal the first time but just a pit stop after that. I'm just not about that life I guess.

Finally Hawaii, did 6 days each on Maui, Big Island and Kauai. 1 day on Oahu (Honolulu). I enjoyed Kauai the most, but could see myself recommending Big Island over it to certain people in certain situations. Either way I think the best spot would be Kokee state park (Camping available, but actually splurged to stay at the lodge there). I would strongly push anyone going to Hawaii to at minimum do a helicopter ride over it, if you can't stay there for whatever reason (Biggest drawback being the lack of food options, reasonably far from the nearest town).

I am going to the Big Island in just over a month.

Have 7 nights there. Looking forward to it.
