VA148 Queenstown to Melbourne Emergency Diversion

VA148 from Queenstown, NZ to Melbourne has made an emergency diversion to Invercargill (NZ). This followed a potential bird strike departing Queenstown that caused an engine fire.

The crew successfully shut down the troubled engine. With the remaining engine still operable, the aircraft diverted to Invercargill where it landed safely and was met by emergency services.

All passengers and crew are ok thankfully.
