I think the Parade result had everyone rolling around laughing, especially the opposition players!!!

Hampton 2's have won 6 games in the last 2 years, they beat parade by 25 goals, that's hilarious in anyone's book!!!

Maybe if some members of this thread had not talked-up a clearly depleted list it might have made it a little easier to swallow for the men from Garvey, any thoughts????

well i'm sure the hampton 2's will remember that win for many years to come, a full team playing against a team of 14 fit players is a very good game of football dont u think.
as for the 1's hampton looked the more experianced team, but did get quite a few cheap goals, parades young blokes will take time to get used to each other, and as we all know young teams don't perform every week, i think as the weeks go by , and a few more eperianced players come back into the lineup the young parade team will be very competitive, hampton deserved the win and will be hard to beat this year

If anyone from yarra valley can give me a run down on the old geelong line up and what there strengths and weaknesses were last week that would be greatly appreciated.

Strengths - Me

Weaknesses - Not kicking it to me

Hope that helps

OGS by 78
Oakleigh by 13
BT by 12
OM's by 6
Hampton by 19

3/5 Week One. I thought OM's early preseason form may get them over the line. BT was the one that got away. Not quite sure how they lost from that position.

Week 2:

Prahran to touch up YV - 35 points. (Geeves is on the Blues Bandwaggon)

Therry in a close one away at Parade. 14 points.

OM's will be desperate at home and will get up in a thriller. Can't afford an 0-2 start. OM's by 3 points.

Another team that will be desperately trying to avoid an 0-2 start will be BT. But i cant see this happening. OGS away by 25 points.

Oakleigh by 5 goals to keep up there recent domination.

Cheers,

DG

Prahran 11pts
parade 23 pts
OM 19pts
Ogs 21 pts- good luck to BT though- dont think they are too far off
Oakleigh 17pts

3/5 for me as well last week, hopefully can sharpen up this week!

Prahran to beat yarra by 3 goals - always a tough ask out there

Parade Vs therry - who could pick this one??? THerry by 10pts - Parade were terrible last week - at least Therry put more than 50pts on the board.

Hampton to beat OM's by 5 goals - Rovers in full stride at this early stage, good conditions could mean an even bigger margin.

BT Vs OG's - Toss of the coin again with home ground advantage a big factor, Ogs to hang on by 15pts

Oakleigh V POB's - Krushers by 20pts at home

Good luck to all

Good Luck to the bullants
Hope they get over the line, from all reports very unlucky to just get pipped :thumbsu:

correct me if i'm wrong, but are parade the only team who lost on the weekend? i thought there were 5 games that were played?
There were 5 other games played last weekend, but only 1 that I cared about and the result was quite funny.

Wonder if Parade will bounce back this week. I highly doubt it.

Is it a record to see OGs reserves win by 200 points and then the Seniors lose by almost 70???

Obviously Bulleen Temp great A listers but shocking shocking depth!

for your information the reserves had only 19 players for the first half and in the second half played with only 17 players...and against the best reserves side going around...i wouldnt say depth is the problem...they lost 2 onballers to injury and had their CHB and captain pulled out midweek...all in all in was a tough week for the 2's but a great win for the 1's against one of the more fancied teams

RIP, you would say depth is a problem, purely from an injury account. Obviously the senior side showed class on Saturday, but if injuries hit wouldn't you say that they could be on shaky ground going off the ressies result. My opinion would be if the seniors keep all the cattle on the paddock, then they will finish in the four but if the have a spate of injuries then they could slip from contention.

Q. Why were there only 19 to chose from when you have a Club 18 side as well?

if we were to take numbers from the clubbies then they wouldve been short...but we'll get a number of players back this weekend and we should have at least 22...with the exception of 2 onballers/hff with a dislocated shoulder and ankle injuries respectively

Obviously the boys didn't kick the aggot to me

If this happens again i think I may saunter out of the arc and chase a kick.......

Not much being a goal kicking superstar if I can't get my paws on it

The BT v OG result shakes things up a lot in D1 this year. A lot of people inc myself had OG sitting pretty at the top. Maybe the hardness of Clarke and his mates at BT gave the OG boys a bit of a scare.
Where does this put BT now and moer importantly where does it put OG?

hard to say - I reckon you can have days where one side has a ripper and the other a shocker. BT where very keen to make up for a very disappointing loss the week before. Oggs will be right up there at the end.

Wouldn't read too much into BT-OG result.
Just a continuation of the 'wood-over' triumviate.
OG beat OC.
OC beat BT.
BT beat OG.
Its been happening since 2004.
OGs will bounce back this week (because its not a prelim).

??? But Carey beat OGS in the Prelim Final in 04 D2 to go up to D1,
Then OC and OGS split home and away games last year, and Carey won the 2nd Semi Final. That a 3/1 victory to Carey, with the two finals being large victories that pushed OC up a grade each time.
Dont think OGS have any wood over Carey.

Great work BT- good to see- also good to see Matthews dust off a few cobwebs- have said consistently that BT would go Ok, but everyone seems to have written them off before this week. OGS will still be right up there in a very even comp.

tips for this week
hampton
therry
ogs-bit nervous about this-big home ground advantage for the pirates
BT just
Oakleigh

in fact all games are tight- can only tip Hampton confidently
