That was directly from the VAFA Portal. Looks like it has been ratified.

Tell me which team is going to take players from another comp for 9 games. Would speak poorly of a club who thinks success will come from importing players who wont be around in 2021.

Just close transfers from those comps as at Friday.

Max "VAFA need to get their big boy/girl pants on and play in 2020" Leader

........or in the lower grades it could be just allowing guys who want to play footy this year with some old mates they used to play with Maxy :) #justtakingtheP1$$

VAFA will be playing. They will stand alone if need be.
Okay, so a bit of a hypothetical here, but based on our suspicion/belief that those leagues who have cancelled have done so at the request of clubs.

What do we do if, say, 3 Premier, 4 Premier B and 3 Premier C clubs tell HQ they can’t honestly meet the match day/training protocols and/or project a massive loss and thus want to sit out the season?

Should they be “forced on” as it were?

EDFL salary cap will be zero so financially for clubs it will be easier. Hope in 6-8 weeks covid can be managed better with less restrictions and 500 in the crowd. Not done yet
500 crowd in 6-8 weeks? I need some of what your having. State of emergency is in place until the end of June, so not much is going to really change dramatically until then and at best I can see maybe 100 outdoors by the end of July. Still don’t think that is enough and how you control that I’m not sure. Hopefully VAFA get up, but I think it’s a long long shot!

So what happens in a game if someone plays and is subsequently tested positive?

Do 44 players plus trainers, officials and others have to go into 2 weeks quarantine?

If so they risk their employment and 2 teams in the competition cant play for a fortnight.

I love my local footy but unless I'm missing something there seems to be too many risks to proceed?

1. Can happen, until everyone is vaccinated
2. Yes, based on current Victorian track and trace protocols, if they’ve “come into contact” with a confirmed case. Officials may have an out here.
3.Yes, yes.
4. Quite likely, but apparently this is weak as piss.

To points 2/3, whats the difference between that and going to a pub/restaurant/anywhere that details are being taken?

If the government gives the go ahead to play, that's no different to the risk you'd take going out for dinner?

All valid points. To the second question, testing turnaround in Victoria is only a few days isn't it? Therefore results should be known before the next game and players that test negative should be fine to play straight away. As far as I know you are only required to quarantine between getting tested and getting your result. I can't imagine an employer would have a leg to stand on in regards to punish someone for testing positive. Community transmission can occur anywhere.

The implications on the fixture if things go wrong....well... I don't have the answer.

A whisper i have heard is that clubs will be able to opt in. No relegation / no promotion. If a Uni Blues (who are likely to have a total player shortage) decide the season is too compromised then Prem A will be a 9 team competition. Same will apply down the line.

No difference at all. However restaurants and cafes are opening again to enable people to run a business and earn income. No one in the VAFA except for umpires and coaches is supposed to derive an income from the matches. VAFA football is not anyone’s livelihood. Restaurants and cafes provide income for tens of thousands people who would otherwise be on JobKeeper.

No one is currently on JobKeeper as a result of not being able to play footy on the weekend are they?
