Great work PSThe Glen Eira / Old McKinnon Gryphons’s thoughts and prayers are with St. Kevin's Old Boys FC player Michael Pisker, his family, friends and the SKOB community. It’s is horrible to hear of such injuries occurring while playing the game we love and it’s important that we wrap our arms around the club and individuals in these difficult moments. The Glen Eira Gryphons players will be donating their fines this week to help support Michael and there will be opportunities to donate during this weekends matchday and evening functions. We encourage our community to get behind this campaign to help Michael and his family through his recovery.

Memo went out yesterday about Umpire escorts , that's all fine , but many clubs in the divisions are struggling to get help . Every week is a battle to get 2 goalies , boundary umps and timekeepers , surely there has been no issues . Some clubs don't even have Team managers with sometimes players acting as it . In all my time i've never seen one incident
Seriously have never seen anything to warrant itSpoke to a club Pres in one of the lower grades and he copped a bake from an umpire for not having umpire escorts, club Prez wasn't aware they were still required as he hadn't seen them home or away all year!. Agree with your point on volunteers, it's getting harder and harder every week as the league is providing less and less.
The paid volunteer is now in vogue and unfortunately is the only volunteer who you can rely on.
Big surprise not to see Scammell Reserve in Oakleigh not among the list of venues to put on VAFA finals. It has hosted VAFA finals in the past, including the 1995 VAFA D Section Grand Final, won by Hampton Rovers over Thomastown which helped break the Rovers 44 year premiership drought.Real spread again this year, love Port Melbourne as an option.

While my club doesn't play in the top grade, I'm really looking forward to going to the GF public holiday standalone game for Prem A.

Thank you Phantom Strobler that’s very kind of your club, it warms the heart to see such generosity in a very trying time. The Glen Eira / Old McKinnon Gryphons’s thoughts and prayers are with St. Kevin's Old Boys FC player Michael Pisker, his family, friends and the SKOB community. Agreed! but i hope he's not seen as a piece of the HR antique furniture collection!Jas - I love your ability to inject the Rovers into any VAFA discussion.
A true clubman if I've ever seen one!

Talked to an umpire about it Saturday. He's done us a million and he said there were incidents post game a few times that umpires reported above. Wouldn't expand on which club and I didn't push him to do so but that isn't good enoughSaw this, supposed to do it with a official armband purchaseable from the VAFA (with a delivery fee)
On a serious note heard about some abhorrent abuse prompting the VAFA to remind everyone about respect and safety.
I assume something happened, they wouldn't just send the memo for no reason. Umpires make mistakes like everyone else but reality is at the end of the day you can't play without them.
Anyone know about this? I'd be guessing anyone caught threatening or seriously abusing a umpire would be thrown out of their club

Highly embarrassing editorial by the CEO fawning over the Xavs having four teams in the thirds as raging hot favourites.

Umps refusing to go out without an escort and the escort has to go back and wait for Goal Umps , oops we don't have any to wait for . These people think volunteers are falling out of trees
After watching Xavs 4th 3rds team, they would destroy most lower grades reserves. Its hilarious as a collective their 4 thirds teams only lost like 6 games for the year. all on top with huge %'s
VAFA need to grow a pair and force them to play in each others division.
