According to Scott Weiland on stage in Europe, telling the crowd that it would be the last tour ever by the band with the final show to be played in Amsterdam. Funnily enough it caught the other band members by surprise as they weren't expecting Scott to make the announcement on stage.

Damn. A none too shabby band

Scott Weiland Announces End Of Velvet Revolver

As we expected, Velvet Revolver is about to call it a day, but the announcement seemed to come as a surprise to come of the band members.

Singer Scott Weiland dropped the announcement on the audience in Glasgow this week, much to the intrigue of the other members of the band.

"You're at something special really tonight," Weiland said. "This is the last ever Velvet Revolver tour".

The band then played the appropriately titled 'Fall To Pieces'.

We already know that Weiland's former band Stone Temple Pilots will shortly reform for shows. How long the reunion lasts is anyone's guess.

In a statement after the gig, drummer Matt Sorum published at his website the following:

"So last night was interesting. Had a little band turmoil on stage as you probably all could tell. Being in a band is a lot like being in a relationship. Sometimes you just don't get along. I guess there has been more turmoil lately I guess with the cancellations and all".

"It has been frustrating I am not going to lie. My career and life in Rock n Roll has come with its ups and downs. Unfortunately some people in this business don't realize how great of a life they have. Touring the world, meeting great people and fans all over the world. And just playing music for a living. I feel truly blessed. But sometimes the road can be draining for some, being away from home and family does grind on you sometimes. With all the traveling and different beds. Personally I Love this Shit and sometimes can't believe I am so lucky to still be doing what I do for a living".

"Everybody could see who was unhappy last night but all I can say is Let's keep the Rock alive people!!!! In this life u just pick up and keep moving. And don't ever let anybody stand in your way. The Truth Rock On!"

The last scheduled show for the band is April 1st in Amsterdam.

The second album was fairly average. Not a shock really. Don't know where this leaves Slash and co.

Slash and co should go back to Guns N Roses. enough water has passed under the bridge and slash can keep Axl at bay simply because Axl hasn't come with anything with out them.

Slash won't work with Axl again. Axl's an arrogant moron who doesn't deserve to have guys like Slash and Duff work with him ever again.

What you say is true but despite all of Axl's shit he still is a great singer and I don't know anyone out there who is willing that can sing Gun and roses songs and do them justice if there is that would be great. Otherwise I'd like to see slash and duff join established bands because there bands out there that could use there talent.

why would they go back to a singer who will never get his act together?

Stupid skagg head.
Songs were a b grade rip off of STP anyway.
I couldn't care less to be honest.
The slash train will continue to go around regardless

Scott Weiland's had a go at Matt Sorum:

"Well, first of all, the state of my family affairs is really none of his business, since he is too immature to have a real relationship, let alone children. So don't attempt to stand in a man's shoes when you haven't walked his path. Secondly, 'keeping rock 'n' roll alive?' I've made many attempts to remain cordial with the members of VR, but mainly, the likes of you. Funny though — this is your FIRST band, as opposed to being a hired gun. I've been making records (now on my ninth), which have sold over 35 million copies worldwide and have maintained a level of professionalism regardless of how many drugs I've ingested into my system. I have only cancelled one tour during the entire course of my 16-year run and that was the 'make-up' Australia tour. Now, shall I open that can of worms, Matthew? Release the Kraken? Serve... Volley! You cancelled the Aussie tour in the fall because you went to rehab, but I won't say why… we'll just let Blabbermouth find out for themselves.

"As for our fans — I will sweat, bruise, and bleed for you. And will continue to do so until the end of this tour. However, you deserve to hear VELVET REVOLVER playing… not certain individuals singing along to get a muddied up sound. God forbid — could one imagine if I grabbed a guitar and started soloing along with Slash? That would never happen because I know my place. It's a shame… we were a gang. But ego and jealousy can get the better of anyone. I wish the best and plan to annihilate the stage in the last few shows.

The rest of the band weren't in rehab when they were meant to be touring Australia. They WERE on drugs. Scott IS on drugs.

Slash and Duff have both posted blogs saying that the band IS NOT splitting up nor is this their last tour. Seems to me Scott's gone ahead and made a decision without telling anyone else. It's GnR all over again for Slash, Duff and Matt.

The reason they rescheduled the tour here in the first place was becuase Matt was on drugs and in rehab. So there goes the first part of your post.

And lets not forget why it took them so long to actually bring out Libertad, Slash takes a little sip of wine and is suddenly addicted and Duff can't sleep so he starts using sleeping tablets and a week later is addicted to them.
I'm not hating on those two coz i f*cking love them both but the whole band is messed up, so many people just blame Scott for all their problems when it's not just his fault.

It took them so long to bring out Libertad because they changed producers about 3 times.
