Very much this.
Treacy is no good.
All hustle and bustle, no craft, poor hands and gets by on defensive pressure and presence.
He'll be the kid who looks a million bucks at WAFL level, but never makes it as an AFL forward.
Unfortunately, the backline is stacked, but he'd be a force on the last line matching it with Gorilla forwards.
I'd like to see him switched with the laconic, but infinitely more talented Cox.
Won't happen though...

Hes much further ahead then taberner was at the same age, and you can see the greater potential he has with the eye test too.
He only just turned 20, there are plenty of key forwards that struggled at AFL level at 20 years of age. It's much harder for the slower more contested style of KPF like treacy to adjust to AFL defenders then it is for skinnier quicker ones like Amiss.
We just need him to become a serviceable second tall, I think its very harsh to write off a barely 20 year old KPF that is doing well in the WAFL but has had a few nervy AFL games. Especially considering he delivers defensive pressure and presence already, as you said yourself.

The guy is a 20 year old forward trying to work on his craft who is not being given a run of games to show what he can do before being dropped.

That's why we need though in the forward line at the moment..the hustle and bustle .especially having amiss and Jackson..need one to add to the contest..to bring the ball to ground.. that's why it's more than likely Fyfe will replace him
Don't believe cox be good forward. Seems to play better punching from behind or intercepting.

If he’d kicked 4 instead of handing off the gimme goal to Frederick they would have had to nominate him, he’s quietly building a nice “body of work” himself.
Especially when his body of work this year is better than Phillipou
He will get it when he kicks 6 against west coast

What are you questioning?
If its that I said it's easier for a skinny quick leading forward to adjust to afl than a contested player I'll explain.
Its the same way a skinny winger or small forward has a quicker path to afl then a contested beast like Erasmus. If your style relies on strength adjusting to the bigger afl bodies is harder while young, but you are the same pace when your 18 as when youre 28.

So Amiss had the same disposals Treacy did at the time of subbing. Treacys best quarter was the 1st when the game was on the line. Amiss best quarter was the last when the game was comfortably won. Amiss is going to be a star & I think treacy compliments him
Maybe the selection panel see Treacy as a bash & crash player who breaks packs, to benefit other players.
He has a good kick, but his positioning and develop sticky hands, needs to improve.

Safe to say there will never ever be a ventless week on these boards ever again. Kinda wish the thread gets vaporized, it’s just not helpful in ANY WAY.
All this knocking of Treacy, it’s like someone sitting in their armchair telling you your teenage son ain’t gonna make it in life, period.

Let the bloke do his apprenticeship, because that’s what this really is, Stop talking like he should be Tradesman like quality already, he wasn't nick named the Big Kahuna by chance and we all saw the potential (including Healy). He has waaaay more upside than Tabs did at the same stage of his career, so many POSITIVES.
