I haven’t bothered to fast forward and check all fixtures but it’s also this week to week to fixturing that just seems way off.

Yes, it's been discussed a lot actually. We have a terrible fixture. We started last and our season is a full ten days shorter than some other teams. Just add it to the pile of inequalities that hinder Fremantle.

On top of us having the shortest season, like you said, we consistently play teams coming off longer breaks. It's actually ****ed up. Results like last week happen because of fatigue related to our fixtures.

In before 'just another excuse for poor performance', it's not an excuse, it is an observable fact. Time and distance are comparable in a race. If one was running a 100m race and your opponent got to start at the 90m mark, would it be making excuses that you lost because your opponent had to run less distance? No, there is a clear inequality.

Not only do we travel the most, we also have the least time to recover. If we fail to make finals then we can realistically point to our fixture as a key reason for it.

West Coast have been similarly shafted.

I forgive to some degree the travel and playing in those non marquee grounds. I get that and have learned to deal with it.

Now the game to game breaks pops up and I’m like WTF. That’s something that should easily be able to be sorted.

There’s so many options the AFL could have looked at to play Richmond next week, yet it’s Freo having to travel to play an extended rested Tigers.

Obviously we won’t be the only team with these issues, but we should certainly be one of the teams that shouldn’t face these additional issues.

I hope it brings you happiness.
We won’t begrudge you ‘borrowing’ extra work pens and other items that can be replenished! Bleed then dry. It will be slow going but by year 10 hopefully they won’t have the funds to support West Coast due to the cost to replace those items that were ‘borrowed’

Nope. I've noticed it too.

Rd1: Not really applicable because of round 0.
Rd2: Freo 6 days break, North 7 days break.
Rd3: Freo 6 days break, Adelaide 7 days break.
Rd4: Freo and Carlton 8 days break.
Rd5: Freo 7 day break, Port 8 days break.
Rd6: Freo 7 days break, West Coast 6 days break.

Then for the rest of the remaining fixtures:
Rd 7: Freo 7 day break, Bulldogs 9 day break.
Rd8: Freo 8 day break, Richmond 11 day break
Rd9: Freo 6 day break, Swans 7 day break.
Rd 10: Freo 8 day break, St Kilda 7 day break.
Rd11: Freo 6 day break, Collingwood 6 day break.
Rd12: Freo 9 day break, Melbourne 7 day break.
Rd 13: Bye
Rd14: N/A due to bye previous round
Rd15: N/A due to gold coast having bye previous round


This has to be deliberate fixturing. I reckon it's specifically interstate teams asking for extra time between games when travelling to Perth. I wonder if it's much different for West Coast in that capacity.

So many little tweaks could be made to narrow the infamous travel ledger.
Start on a Thursday round 1. Give us 3 days to be absorbed until the bye which can end on a Sunday.

Ditto after the bye.
It's not rocket surgery 🤔


Only play in qld and nsw once.

In my heart of hearts, playing an extra game in perth every year would be the best possible outcome. Then what happens? We lose another game to south Australia.

So fremantle have one of the worst fixtures for breaks and they travel the most.

People need to stop bagging the players and look at the data
 
I hate to say it because he is a legend of the club but Fyfe was a ****ing liability and it's not for the first time recently. Holds the ball far too long and gets pinged holding the ball, tries to hold his delivery until the perfect option appears...it doesn't. Kicks standard set shots directly in front out on the full, takes running shots on goal... out on the full.

To be fair there were about 4 different goal kick attempters with piss easy shots on goal that all missed, but gee Fyfe was a liability.
