Again for those who've taken an interest, my wife's horse 'american summer' has got a start at Caulfield this Saturday, race 2 @ 12:20 number 12, 1200metre race. Definitely the biggest test to date, but the longer race will suit although coming out of barrier 1, she'll need to pick up the speed much better than previous starts, she's got a great finishing speed, but will need to be within striking distance to have any hope. Currently paying $26, and $6 place. I'll be having a big dip at the place, but won't be going as hard for the win.
ill go for a place again, did well last time

I was preaching To my mates last year that Essendon were not punished hard enough

They were given one year without the Drug Enhanced cheaters and were still allowed the number 1 draft picks in The Main Draft, the Rookie Draft and Pre-Season draft.

Here they are now 12 months on with drug improved players and all these top draft players and they r challenging for the 8 and maybe the flag

Thumbs Down AFL. This is BS.
The Admin are too busy trying to crack onto the young chicks at work than actually doing their jobs.

I agree. Punishing Essendon by banning their players for a year while allowing them to collect the number 1 draft pick is such BS - the club and fans should be laughing at the AFL's stupidity.

yep, i remember at the time when the initial punishment was announced i questioned why they would take away the draft pick from the current year and not 2016 as well, considering they would more than likely end up with pick 1. will be interesting to see how mcgrath's career progresses.

That was an unintended consequence of the player bans. The club received a punishment from the AFL that included the loss of draft picks. Essendon were already stripped of their 2013 draft picks (first and second round) and their first round pick in 2014 was commuted to 18th.
ASADA banning all their players caused them to get the number one pick.

In essence, they traded picks 12 & 30 in 2013 plus pick 12 in 2014, and a mid-first round in 2016 (that they would have had without their players being banned) for pick 18 in 2014 and picks 1 and 19 in 2016. They certainly came out behind on draft points, but was it far enough behind?

In my view, their 2016 first round pick should have been commuted to 12th (their draft position in 2013 and 2014).

Just realised the Suns have followed a pattern in W/L record this year. Have gone
LLWWLLWLLWWLLWLL
If this pattern continues we would finish WWLLWL.
I know it means nothing, but very weird and interesting that we have followed a pattern. Wonder it follows for the rest of the year

So win v dogs in Cairns
Win v Richmond at Metricon
Lose to dockers in Perth
Lose to Brisbane at gabba
Win v essendon at Metricon
Lose v port in Adelaide.

Certainly possible
A resounding victory against dogs and tigers would have the fans up and about again with what could have been and then lose to winnable games v freo and Brisbane forcing the club to sack eade where care taker Solomon coaches us to the typical after coach is gone freedom style victory against the bombers to follow up with a thrashing to Port Adelaide as another reality check.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brisbane was our only win out of that lot. Im not even confident of winning that game

I was saying to my partner on Saturday night how will the suns manage to build you up, break your heart, build you up again just to break your heart once more. happens regularly throughout the season and even within games!

So Geelong on the weekend tried this weird coaching move where they kept a forward in the forward line and it worked.... I know right who would of thought.... anyway imagine if we kept lynch and wright up there, who would stop them one on one??? Let me answer that for you, nobody. God I hope Eade was watching that game on Saturday and took note.

We are a lock for this week.

Thinking about this season , we have lost to 14th , 15th and 18th on ladder at home , we win them we are in 8 , Rockets future could of been judged on those 3 games.

Would be confident if we didn't have May and Lyons out along with others

Never liked the full ground defence expected from forwards by coaches. A forwards job is to kick goals they can't do that from CHB. Always should have at least 2 forwards in the forward 50(or near enough). Most frustrating thing watching Saad, harbs or hanley clear the ball from defence and then stop and kick sideways coz the forwards are too slow to get back.

Yep you can thank Roos for single handedly turning our game into a mobile version of hybrid rugby with his flooding defenceive unwatchable shit. And people want him to Coach?

I have a few mates who are Melbourne supporters. They are grateful for what Roos did, but said the first 2 years was unwatchable and almost distressing. Only won 11 games and averaged a measly 65 points a game in 2014-15. No thanks.
