You can see that the Hawks are on the slide and the Blues are on the rise, Bolton may of been more important at the HFC than any of us recognised.

We were never going to give another untried coach a go after Bluey but credit where it's due Bolton looks the goods.

Don't forget Beveridge as well the year before that departed. It's tough to replace a good coaching group, and with success those assistants usually get a senior opportunity.

Where do you think Clarko came from? He was tutored under Mark Williams through PAFC successful period early on as well as the late Phil Walsh, Dean Bailey...successful clubs are a collective of good coaches. These are the types we should be targeting. I would be looking at Sydney, Geelong for Rockets next assistants only because Hawthorns have already picked out the last couple years and will inevitably slide from coaching staff departing and retirements over the next 12-24 months

It's more to do with the new ruling on intentional out-of-bounds IMO.

Hawks used to absolutely demolish sides from stoppages. Thinking about it, the Dockers were the same. Stoppages were the Hawks and the Dockers bread and butter (mind, lack of Sandilands + Fyfe hurts the Dockers, too). And a lack of Roughead + Hale makes the Hawk's forward-line nowhere near as damaging in the tall-timber department.

All the best for Jack Anthony of Southport.

Sounds like he is on the mend but it must have been bloody frightening for him.

Football runs a poor second when dealing with the potential of ending up in a wheel chair for the rest of your life.

AFL,com states the 8 of our remaining 11 games this year are against teams outside the 8.

With our big influx of returning players and assuming they stay health what do you think is a pass mark?

I think we need we should win at least 7 if our list is anything like it is supposed to be with everyone fit. Whats your guess?

I have us marked down as finishing with 11 wins for the season, might seem over confident but with our returning players and easier draw i think it's achievable. We also play 4 weeks in a row in Queensland between rd 15 and 18

Maybe this is just me, but I think Aaron Hall's supposed slump is a bit exaggerated... I mean, last game was the only "bad game" he's played all year IMO...
His non effort to smother last week was pathetic and cost us a goal when we were leading. Deflating to watch.

Whoever decides the fixture needs to slap themselves roughly, the Friday night games this season have been a big disappointment overall. With an odd couple of exceptions of course.. ;)

Rants or otherwise on tonight's game -

Whoever let that kid kicking with Clarko in the preview dress as a jester needs slapping more thoroughly.

Does any player in the AFL receive more free kicks than Puopolo..? Oh Waite, Thomas is a definite contender.

Enjoyed seeing Stokesey speak to Parish after his (Darcy's) goal assist in the 1st 1/4.

Is Daniher Essendon's version of Casboult, gr8 marks but poor kicking.

Hawks need midfielders more than forwards. Gunston or Bruest; If not, keep your cold, hard in your pocket.

Ess did well out of 2015's crop.

As an aside, AFL.com posted mid year reports. On the subject of most improved for Suns & Cats I disagreed.

Jesse is the 1, take note how Syd made headway after he was nullified to some degree.

Easy 1 for Cats is Guth but I'm going for Kersten. Shown why he is still there.
