Good to see an Essendon side have more goals registered than behinds. No roof over their heads either.

It feels good to vent frustration.

Managed to sneak down to the game with a few mates.
- Bellchambers was ok, but was far from brilliant. Frankston looked like they had a small defence so a number of his marks inside 50 came from simply being way too tall for his opponent. On the lead he was poor, lacked urgency a few times and around the ground he wasn't great. All in all, ok. Better than Giles, but nowhere near as good as the Savior.
- Mckernan is pretty much an extra midfielder with how athletic he is. Get this man some toilet paper, because he is BOG again.
- Dalgleish's best game since his injury (that I've seen). Ran well, used the ball nicely and seemed to be on a wing far more often today. Shame there's a bye next week.
- Browne was good without being great. Hope he gets a run soon. Seemed to also be on a wing a lot this week.
- Steinberg is the VFL's smaller version of superfood Cale Hooker.
- Hard to read too much into this game, as per Frankston's ladder position.

Ended up having to leave a little before 3QT, but from what I saw:
  • Smack taking the piss once again. Strong marking, accurate kicking, agile as all get out. One lovely little move to fake a handball around the back then get around the man on the mark. Can't wait to get him back in the seniors.
  • Tippa was great off half-back. Mostly lovely delivery, a bit of dash and good pressure.
  • Browne got a fair bit of it, but disposal and decision-making was only so-so.
  • Dempsey didn't get a lot of the ball and was taking it pretty easy, but still had a few good runs and no obvious shanks.
  • Giles and TBC were only OK, despite the scorecard. Obviously lots of ball coming their way.
  • J. Merrett seemed to be parked forward in a pocket mostly - wonder if this is a directive from above?
  • Also kept an eye out for Ferry, who did a few nice things. A couple of strong marks and a decent leg on him.

Frankston are pathetic so perspective needs to be taken on goals.

TBell - just average and he carried on like an overpaid tool to go with it. Kicked 2 or 3 but should not be in frame for afl.

Licha - can't recall him missing a target. Should be right for Hawks match.

O'Brien - typical NOB

Ashby - handy game off hbf

Jerrett - pretty quiet

Browne - one of the best

Steinberg - typical steiny

Giles - mainly forward just going...

Dalgliesh - one of the best providing dash off half back.

Kommer - average. Didn't do a lot.

Aylett - average.

McKernan - BOG kicked at least 5 goals.

Langford, McKenna, Laverde didn't play. Tippa was good again
