Did not see the game Saturday against North Ballarat Roosters reserves but heard the country squad went down by 5-6 goals. Still not great team play and beaten in the middle by the older bigger bodied opponents.

3 players were to be cut. Lieshout was one, don't know about the others.
Know that 11 Gippsland Power players made the final team which is a fantastic effort and everyone associated with the development in that area must be very proud of the lads. And they only lost by 2 goals today against Geelong with half their team missing. Some very good footballers coming from down this way!

Relatively low scoring game between VC and NB. Country got 7 goals Fraser with 3 and Neagle with 2. These are second-hand reports as I was not there myself but told that better players were Bowe (onball got clearances), Drum (so cool under pressure! only played half game), Fraser (presented well from CHF/FF and kicked accurately), West (rucking against full grown opps), Driscoll (played FP and made most of limited opportunities). Dowd (added after first trial fantastic effort to make the team - a real leader in the backline. And Carlisle who played on Jurica and never stopped trying.

Still not totally happy with the application and movement going forward was Harris I was told but is confident has a good team to be competitive in the championships.

Anyone know the other 2 who were cut?

think maybe Johnson from Geelong was one.

P.S. Ellis didn't play.

Both Johnson and Owen struggled to cope with the speed and bigger bodies. Most players only played 2 to 2 1/2 quarters. Fraser was much better at FF in the 2nd half where he found room to move. At CHF he got swamped abit.
