I thought Alavi was the one they'd go with honestly

Has played 11 premier 1st XI games with a total of 8 wickets (6 wkts @47 avg this season). I read that he’s a highly rated football player, he might be in the squad to sway him to choose cricket over football.Who the hell is Wil Parker, an eye to the future no doubt?
15 and 0/60 last game, must have bowled well!!!
Well Fuzzy has retired so he's out. Alavi took 3/42 off 22 overs in the magoos so I reckon he should have gotten the chance.Top spinners from grade cricket:
Grimwade 19 wickets @ 23
Alavi 20 wickets @ 23
Bowe 20 wickets @ 18
Murphy 17 wickets @ 22
Fawad 16 wickets @ 11
Seymour 16 wickets @ 15
Don't need the 5 bowlers with Short and JFM in the top 6.Could we roll with: Harris Maddinson Handscomb Short JFM Gotch Sutherland Tremain Parker Siddle Boland? Guesswork re Parker's batting position.
Lyon and SO'K are also two of their top 3 bowlers available though tbf.Parker plays, Boland to miss IMO.
Lyon and SOK both named for NSW, suggests deck will spin and thus cant play 4 quicks

Honestly I'd back Short over him. I don't think he's anywhere near ready for FC cricket.Highly doubt the SCG will be a pitch that suits 4 quicks and no spinner
Nah, Hatcher will miss out.NSW being NSW, they will probably go in with five bowlers for no good reason again
Nah, Hatcher will miss out.
Who cares? This is the Bushrangers thread! That makes too much sense though. NSW selectors aren't always known for their sense. They have had a tendency to go overly bowler heavy for years, pretty much ever since Grant Lambert was around
Travis Dean again just shows we have no other openers if he still gets pickedTold you he was a gun

As far as Grade cricket goes, Luke Wells is leading the runs by a street (Pommy opener from Sussex? I think), James Seymour is second but hasn't scored a ton this year, Andrej Yaksender has made runs but hasn't represented us in second XI yet, Brayden Stepien can bat anywhere in the top 7. My money would be on Seymour or Stepien.More batsmen in general, there are 4 batsmen in that squad who can open. But next game we lose Harris as well, so its going to be interesting to see who comes in then.
Maxwell is gone for the summer, no idea on Puckovski or Harper. Might see Harvey debut. Not sure if Finch gets back for any games either?
Wonder who Queensland play in their attack against us? I wouldn't be shocked if they went with Gannon, Doggett, Stanlake and go the extra bat in McSweeney rather than Kuhnemann, who has struggled in the two's. Pretty good district record though, but I dunno how strong Queensland district level is compared to, say, WA. NSW obviously the strongest with Victoria probably the second.
I was saying 3 bowlers plus Wildermuth, McSweeney and MarnusDon't think we will go with 4 quicks + Wildermuth at the G. Doggett doesn't seem to be too highly rated amongst our selectors at the moment and hasn't played any red ball cricket at any level all season due to injury either. I'm guessing it will be Gannon, Kuhnemann, Bartlett, Edwards/Stanlake. Depth is going to be hugely stretched with all those players missing with the A side plus Marnus and Renshaw.
Ah I misread. Not sure about that. Marnus will be in South Africa too.I was saying 3 bowlers plus Wildermuth, McSweeney and Marnus
Ah. I was going on the basis that McSweeney and Marnus were more dangerous than KuhnemannAh I misread. Not sure about that. Marnus will be in South Africa too.
Now was the time to give a new player a tryTravis Dean why is he back?
