From what I heard, Gillespie had lost the plot towards the end of last year with his coaching methods and player selections leading to some discontent. Whether or not that is somewhere near the truth, who knows.

Kellaway is averaging 34 in three games this season and has two fifties. Not brilliant hut hardly "deadwood" for a 22 year old (who's grandfather's funeral was on Wednesday).

Not wanting to jump on the Merlo kicking bandwagon as you all do a pretty good job but i cant understand why he would be a legitimate opening option at Shield level when you have guys like Brasher in the squad. While Kellaway was there was a good chance of a draw,perhaps not enough in the Victoria 1st innings might have been a bigger problem.BUT full credit to SA,they outplayed Victoria.Surely Harris will strengthen the batting as doubt how will make the test side and hopefully not in the 14 man squad and only the drink boy again.
