Good to see the boys respond after being tested for the first time this year. That being said, those first 2 and a bit quarters were painful to watch. Wish we had more smart and composed players like Ellis(not to mention excellent skills). Also prefer him to take all the kick ins while Hurn is out.

5. Darling

Daylight

4. Ellis
3. Mackenzie
2. Sheppard
1. Gaff

Dishonerable Mentions:
Shuey - Back to his old habit of ducking for freekicks
Schofield - Any chance of actually marking the ball or kicking to a teammate?

5. Darling - obviously
4. MacKenzie - Locked down on Reiwoldt in the 2nd half after it looked like he would light us up
3. Shuey - Targeted but was a beast inside. 9 clearances, 17 contested possessions, 2 goal assists and a goal.
2. Sheppard - Provided run and sharp skills, even in the first half when we sucked balls. Even won some contested ball.
1. Gaff - When we started breaking even in contests, Gaff took flight. When I was worried we'd run out of legs, he soildered on.

HM: Brown, Bennell, Rosa

Not continually give his man a 5 m start.
He's a rebounding defender, a la Wirra (not comparing the players, just styles), not a lock down defender. He can defend, he knows he needs to work on being a lock down defender. However, I have more trouble with Yeo as a lock down defender than Bennell. I thought he was good week 1, ho hum week 2 and good again tonight. As others have said, not sure what you were expecting but, having watched him from 17 years of age, he's playing about exactly as I expect him to play.

In what context?

He made some massive spoils for one of he smallest guys on the ground tonight. He also has amazing poise with the footy, not something we have in abundance. I had him in our best 2-3 tonight, but that was watching at the ground so I'll check the replay before voting.

Can hit a moving target from more than 20 metres away so he's already well ahead of the curve.

yeah maybe off the ball hes brilliant but best 2-3 tonight, yeah not sure.

Little bit surprised by the number of people giving Darling BOG. He looked great and threatened to take the game by the scruff of the neck but never quite managed to. He kicked 1.4. Could have been the match-winner but just didn't quite nail his chances.

When the game tilted in our favour - from about nine minutes remaining in the third when Templeton blew the chance to give the Saints a 18-point lead - it was because our run started to overwhelm the Saints. We started to transition the ball quickly and run and carry. For mine, Gaff was the most influential in that department.

5. Darling - 1 x ninja flip - Also played well...
4. Ellis - All around good game
3. Rosa - Been our best player this year. And showed he can still shut down a bloke.
2. Brown - I love the way he's playing this year
1. Macca - after an ordinary first quarter really turned it on

Think it was his key score assists that make him the choice for BOG for most people. Had a hand in a lot of important goals.
