3. Petrie- clearly best and most influential player on the ground. Was everywhere as he has been for most of the year. Continues his best year at the club and looks set to win the teams best and fairest.

2. Wells- was the best game I have seen him play. Did everything he was supposed to- chased, played excellent defensive game, inside fifties, clearances and most importantly, run and through the middle no less. His 27 disposals were all elite, mostly long penetrating, pin-point kicks. Was the standout midfielder and I dare say, barring injury (knocks wood) will lift us to play some inspired football in the finals. The past month has been the break-out for Wells and I think from now on we will see the Wells that has been promised to us for so long, we sure saw it on Friday night.

3. Pratt- Was sensational, especially in the first half, did all the things you would expect him to and more. Throw in the fact that he was one of our most damaging midfield options through the centre and an inspired goal and its hard not to put him in your top 3. Well done.

Unlucky:

Harvey- Played a brilliant game, especially up forward, wasn't amongst the top three most influential but his work rate, run and ability to tease in the forward half was great.

Campbell-Was quiet in the first half but exploded in the second with run on the wing, inside fifties, goal assists, relentless chasing, pressure and tackles and goals. very good game from Matty, the fastest player in the league.

Gibson/Firrito- Both played very good games in defense with run through the middle. Beat their man and played versatile games.

Was impressed with Goldstein, Ross, Urquhart, McMahon and everyone except possibly Thomas who was mostly lazy all night.

Also very impressed by Flash Campbell, Pratt, Goldie looks very promising, nice to see CJ and Shagga being solid contributors and Harro was great especially in the third with the clearances he was getting.

It's nice to be so hard to give the 2 & 1 votes - Dish was a standout but Wellsy & Boomer also deserved votes. Campbell, Gibbo, Harding were all good contributors all game. Harro had a great 2nd half - could really see him lift in 3rd quarter. Ross, Urquart, McMahon were all good, as were Shagga & CJ. Could go on through the team which is a great position to be in.

Now for next week - let's repeat the intensity against a lower team !
