3. Nash
2. Hille
1. Johnson

Also Good- Houli, Dempsey, Monfries.
Dyson I Thought It Was A Bad Move Keeping Dyson But He Looked The Goods Tonight.

Good to see that one person took the blinkers off and acknowledged JJ for a great game. Before you only one person mentioned him and that person had him as 10th best player. Anyone that knows me knows that i am a bit of a critic of JJ but i am the first to give credit when credit is due. JJ and Pev were awesome tonight. Too many peeps simply overlooked these guys so they could talk up the youngsters.

But on Dyson........once again those who know me know i have always been on Dyson and have been trying to get people to jump on the wagon. I reckon by about round 4 the wagon will be jam packed! :D:thumbsu:

3. Nash - Looked like a veteran out there
2. Houli - Will be a great midfielder and one of the bargains of the '06 draft (along with Davey & Remiers)
1. Dyson - My bandwagon boy. Looked great tonight, really stepped up in the absense of the senior midfielders

Dempsey looked great and I'm proudly displaying my bandwagon membership, but his decision-making / timing looked slightly unusual at times. Should improve with match practice though.

Hille (and Laycock) looked potent up forward and decent through the middle, but Leuenberger held his own against both of them at times. Impressed with Hille's set shot kicking.

Reimers; Monfries; Myers & Hocking all showed great potential to break into the midfield this season. Happy with Pears, but suprised to see him used up forward.

And Magin & Atkinson look like a couple of handy rookies!

Don't you mean our bandwagon boy? ;)

Actually, i don't think he could be considered a bandwagon boy for me as i was on him from word go.......:thumbsu:

I thought JJ's first half was absolute rubbish. He looked slow and past it. Got a bit of the ball in the second half when the game slowed down.

I don't think he'll be of any value this year tbh. I reckon Pev has his spot all sewn up and barring injury he won't get that many games.

I disagree I think JJ will be very important for us this year if he stays fit. Although he does not have the pace of some of the younger players he is still very strong over the ball and will give good leadership to the younger players. He may be best used of the bench. I do agree, however, with many others that only one of JJ and Pev should play in any one game.

Houli
Nash
Dempsey

Finally some youngsters in our best 3. Special mentions also to Magin and Monfries. Magin looks to have a ton of ability. If he continues that form would be a chance of elevation if one of gumby, Neagle, Williams, Daniher goes on long term injury list.

Fair enough!:D

I've rated him from the start too. We should bookmark that Ricky Dyson Bandwagon thread from the other week though before everyone claims they've been on his bandwagon too. Great kid, just needed the confidence as he's always had the ability.

3. Hille
2. Jetta
1. Dempsey

I thought Dyson was quite good early, he was a bit slow around the ground and looks a tad uncoordinated whilst running.
Pevrill played a good leadership role on the HBF/Middle, kicking a couple of important goals also.

1. Nash = Standout
2. Monfries
3. Hille

Bagging of players will not start for a few weeks - everyone deserves a honeymoon period. And to be honest, it was a pretty even team performance, all the way down to the rookies.

I personally thought Dyson was shocking, he showed more courage and got more of the ball which was good but missed so many targets.

Anyway probably
3 - Nash
2 - Hille
1 - Monfries

Dempsey, Magin, Houli all impressive.

I think maybe i need to watch the DVD of the match again because i didnt see Nash get a lot of it last night.
I'm going to watch it again to see why so many people have given him 3.

To be fair, i wasn't looking out for him much...

nash was very good, the side in general played well. Its good to see Knights give the young kids a chance and see what they can do. Dyson played well considering all the pressure he has been under. CJ looked to be moving quick and his kicking technique looked alot better too. Monfies i thought played well too, his tough and got the ball. JJ is good to have around as you need that older support. Houli was good and will be a very good player. Magin looked good and hope he gets another run next week, but with a little size will help alot. Hocking looked quick and tough too. I hope during this preseason most of the kids get a run again. CJ should get another run too if his ok next week. Good to see the young kids....

3. Houli ( 25 touches 24 effective, will be a very good midfielder)
2. Nash ( very good skills and composure and sets up many attacks from half back)
1. Monfries ( looks very good in the midfield specially in the first half)

magin, hille, dyson and dempsey also look very good. Suddenly our midfield looks quite good. :)

His disposal has improved heaps since U18s, and also believe he had a super game, his a work horse

I'd agree that JJ had a pretty ordinary first half and benefited from the game slowing down in the second.

As for Pev having 'sewn up' his place, I think it's too early to try and pigeon hole players. This is still a lot of the pre-season to go.

3. Bachar Houli
2. David Hille
1. Courtenay Dempsey

Honourable mentions: Rhys Magin, Angus Monfries, Nathan Lovett-Murray

EDIT: Re-watching the game, I believe Houli was BOG.

The same thought occured to me when I watched the replay.
