"Lets touch base"
"Lets draw a line in the sand"
"We need to challenge the status quo"
"Moving forward"

and for every Why? question the answer is always - Because we are driving profit and sales.

Why did we...........? Because we are driving profit and sales
Why didn't we.......? Because we are driving profit and sales
Why was Buckley benched on the weekend? Because we are driving profit and sales

W.ank words at Meetings.

There is 1 W.ank word that annoys the Bjabbers out of me,however,it's
Synthesis.
I hear it 2 fooken much.

At work, I've just opened a share prospectus at a random page and found the following:
"rightsizing"
"ability to leverage synergies from core business units"
"least cost paths"
"vertical and horizontal expansion"
"end to end solutions"

Someone in marketing's obviously been to jargon school...

"couch" - As in be careful how you "couch" a question. WTF? I heard that one today and just sat there shaking my head.

Also a guy in our group was asked a question on a phone hook up recently and he said the he hadn't "caucassed" with his people staff and would get back to us.

I think my head will explode soon!!

The biggest **nk going around earns the 'Corporate Director' award. I was in (LOL) tears when I first heard this title...judging some of thier 'dress sense and the way they talk' it's quite appropiate.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Best Practice.

Just saw a demolition of this concept by Stephen Ford, Director of IT Security Services at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu at the Hack 03 conference at the Four Seasons in Sydney.

See, name-dropping works as well.

Fellow borard members, forget Subsidiaries, Divisions and Affiliates of a company. These are hereafter to be refered as..........[drumroll, cymbal crash]

CUSTOMER FACING UNITS!!!!

God knows who came up with that term. My theory is that some management consultant was retiling his/her bathroom, when he/she looked at the shiny side of a tile and thought, "Hmmmm, this is the side the customer sees."

I don't know if this term has migrated to Australia yet, but
give it time.

:roll eyes:

Nice. Might have to slip that one in at the next meeting and see if anyone asks what it means...
