There was a bit of speculation on the Dogs board at the time and I recall one poster saying that two were remorseful when they were told it had been taken hard but that one wasn’t at all.

You're all wrong, hotel staff overheard Hawkins singing in the shower and told their co-workers. Chinese whispers ensue and eventually "i heard Hawkins loves singing Ronan Keating" turns into "I saw Hawkins giving Rohan a beating.
