WADA to appeal AFL Tribunal's Essendon ruling

I think this post to the WADA Facebook page is very insightful.
I think a lot of the recent (Australian) posts on the WADA Facebook page are very insightful .

They make this board look like a genteel, learned, oasis of calm, reasoned, even-tempered discourse; between respectful, knowledgeable and patient supporters of many different clubs and leagues. I'm positively glowing with communal involvement and sharing!

Exhibit A:
"As a Geelong fan, I should enjoy this - but I don't. You f******** need to f*** off and f*** yourselves and f*** a goat and stop f***ing Australian Rules Football. Instead, spend your time and money f***ing the real drug f***s. F***ing hell. F*** this. F*** f*** f*** for the f***ing sake of f***."

Poor goat, a much maligned and targeted animal.

Looking at the WADA FB page now, such hilarity and sadness.

From some Dutch guy:

Love can't believe some of the comments on here for Australians, talk about drug culture in Australian sports, if here all written in black and white, Aussies are such a bunch of druggies.

Good job EFC, ruining Australians reputations abroad. :thumbsu:

Yes, it is a rare treat knowing that we here at BigFooty seem to be the more saner side of society

Don't let all of BigFooty bask in the glory.

Here and The Bay are fine....ALL Club Boards and the Main Board though..........

I seriously hope you're organisation is able to comprehend the damage you're causing to thousands of passionate Essendon supporters, footy followers and particularly those innocent players and their families. It's causing me health issues due to my passion for the club. Not to mention, the many others. What possible reason could you find to appeal, given the negative blood tests and nothing found in two and a half years to incriminate. Blood is on your hands. Why? Something to do? Prove a point? How do you people sleep at night? Absolute disgrace!!!

Yeah I think Essendon are in for a world of hurt. If the two tribunal members chosen by WADA and CAS are from say the olympic or cycling backgrounds you can't see them being too lenient.

AFL and Essendon have no control now, the shit is about to hit the fan.
I thought that the players pick one arbitrator, wada pick one arbitrator and then the two arbitrators select the chair?

Edit: Sorry, after a closer reading of the attached Morgoth is correct

Well, I am appearing a community theatre production of Twister. I think I do a better job than Helen Hunt in the movie, if I may be immodest.

Is the first person listed David grace who represents the players or related to him ?
Coincidence ??

THE key legal force behind the Essendon 34’s defence will be blocked from leading the charge against the World Anti-Doping Agency.

David Grace, QC, who steered the players to victory against the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, is required to recuse himself from the formal proceedings under Court of Arbitration for Sport rules.

Grace is a registered arbitrator with the body. Section 18 of the CAS code states: “Arbitrators and mediators may not act as counsel for a party before the CAS”.

Grace is still expected to assist and provide advice to the players.

WADA has eight more days to submit its brief to the players’ lawyers, who will then have 20 days to respond. "

So he can work unoffically..lol

I suspect that Helen Hunt has a better rack than you, though.
I have been hitting the bourbon for a few years so I wouldn't bank on it.

Yeah Geelong supporter my ass.

saying around Xmas.

Careful what you wish for. If the hearing is around Xmas, and they take, say 3 months to reach a decision (seems to be about par for the course, but happy to be corrected), and the players are found guilty and receive 2 year bans ... less the time already served that would still run to 18+ months or so. And 18+ months or so from Marchish 2016 would wipe out not one, but two seasons.

BTW, as above, effectively there are no appeals.
