21 disposals, 9 tackles and 4 behinds.

If he was kicking to a decent forward, he would have 7-8 goal assists.

Soothing.:thumbsu:

One of the behinds was a great snap for goal from a contest that actually went through the goals but was allegedly touched off the boot.

Not sure what your second sentence means - Brad Smith?

He was very good. Ken Judge in commentary commented it was the best game he had seen Rich play particularly as regards work rate.

Yer, sorry about that, what I meant was a decent forward in the AFL, I realise how bad it came off but I forgot to add in those words at the end.

On his workrate some people dont understand, every club knows since his young football days he is a gun, they would know that his work rate was never a question, then all of a sudden during a year where he will get drafted he decides to take it easy so that he can play all games next season people start questioning his work rate. Thank god the clubs will look at his history and draft him. Somebody has advised him to take it easy as he loves playing footy as he could suffer burn out by the age of 25. I wouldnt be suprised if he dominates from his first game and with Kerr possibly taking the #1 tag, Masten, Ebert and Rich could start doing some special things early on.

Callum Wilson?

Played a very good half of footy.

Initially JD had him playing along side Murphy up foward but the two tended to get in each others way. When he was moved back to defense he was outstanding, read the ball well, would often take a mark and play on generating run from HB.

A major factor in the 11 goal third quarter to Souths.

Murphy kicked 9. Cant understand how he cant have an impact at AFL level.

Phillips bagged 5 and his pushing hard for a rookie spot.

Haha are you for real. Notte got 3? When was this? I must admit I was much more attentive in the 2nd half where Notte didnt have much of a impact

IMO Yarrans laziness and what looks to be a bad attitude may mean he slides to pick 17. Dont know why but he strikes me as someone I wouldnt like to play with. Risky but we can take a risk this year

I'm with Eagle87, I think it's because the game comes so naturally for him he looks like he's going half paced. That's why I say he screams Chris Lewis at me. Rich also falls into this category, for me anyway.

What do you think about taking Walters with our Priority/second pick chrsco. Sounds like the kind of player we need.

I would snap him up at PP, when early in the year many thought he'd go top 10. Has wonderful composure. Having said that if Yarran was still there I would have to take him, but there may be other guys at this point, like Trengove or Swift who are highly rated, so it could be a very tough choice.

You honestly reckon its laziness? It seems to me he is just one of those guys who appears to do everything at 3 quarter pace because it all comes so easy to him, couple that with him being a finesse player (rather than one who seeks contact) and you get your classic brilliant/mercurial guy who will at times not get the ball and drive fans nuts.

I rate him very highly, could come in next year as a small forward and be an immediate threat.

We can thank the AFL again for dominating he we keep and who we get rid of F**KIN AFL they piss me off.....

Not really the AFL's fault, because Brad Smith has said his body is not up to AFL training and rigours. He's on a modified programme with Subi at WAFL level and he'd get run around too much at AFL level.

If we don't manage to win another 2 games then that will be a real advantage we have with two close together picks.

Either way I would love for Yarran to be an Eagle.

Not true the Eagles ask for the Adam Ramanaskis rule as he had done his knee 2 yrs in a row and the AFL said NO...

From that point of view I understand what you are saying. However, there are 2 other points to consider: 1) Brad Smith himself feels his body couldn't have kept up to the rigours of AFL. Watching him at WAFL it always looks like he his walking on egg shells. 2) If the Eagles had thought his body could stand up to the rigours of AFL they had the choice to keep him on their list. The AFL didn't force them to delist him.

If someone like Cornelius was still around our 2nd round pick I would love us to get him. Great contested mark FF who will be a gun.

aint gonna happen. Farmore of a CHF. Hansen has said he will be an eagle for life, and we just signed him up. Kennedy, hansen and lynch already at CHF, with Brown and Notte at FF. Only if he slipped alot (ala gourdis).

Watching the Subi demolition of Claremont, Lewis Stevenson looked pretty good. Was still running in the last quarter and his vision and disposal were clean.

Geez sometimes I wish we'd kept Brad Smith :(

Shame Kerr didnt play him prob got 35 mins of game time wont be at Claremont next year if Kerr is there. Do agree he did look good in the last quarter

Five Strings, Megladon, where was Stevenson played? On ball or wing?

How did Thomson look? Had 22 possies and 5 marks, so stats looked OK.

Eagles 4 Mine: We could have redrafted Smith once the AFL told us we couldn't rookie-list him. We had pick 80, which we used on Thompson.

chrsco: Only really saw the second half. Stevenson seemed to be playing on the wing. Thompson didn't seem to do much at all but from what the commentators were saying he'd had a decent first half. Probably needs to develop his tank

Looking dodgy about not winning another 2 games, but Yarran's stats on the weekend were 18 possies, 7 I50:eek:, whilst kicking 4 goals 2 himself.

The trouble with that is that , at the time of the draft, we were still waiting for a ruling from the AFL as to whether we could rookie list Smith under the "Ramanaskus rule". They didn't tell us that we couldn't until AFTER the draft had taken place. Had the eagles been informed earlier it is possible that they might have redrafted Smith.

Just finished watching the Subiaco Vs Claremont game (recorded it).

Out of our senior and rookie listed players:

Stevenson - unsighted in the first half (TOG?), but had a very strong 2nd half, in particular last 1/4 - was probably their best player in the 2nd half and the most impressive out of our players. Can definitely see why Woodhouse recruited him: runs hard, moves very well (nice pace and lateral movement) and has good footskills with very good penetration. Will be interesting to see how he progresses next season.

Thomson - tried hard and was one of Claremont's best (though that's not saying much). Ran hard out of defence, but disposal let him down on a few occassions - though to be fair there didn't seem to be many options presenting themselves to him.

C.Jones - quiet, took some good grabs but not helped by the lack of delivery or his kicking at goal (0.4).

Out of the draft prospects:

Rich - Played a very good game. Won a good mix off contested and uncontested footy, both in the stoppages and outside. Worked hard too, like the Rich of old - chasing and tackling and blocking/shephearding etc. Have noted his work ethic has been much improved in the last two games for Subiaco. I'm also beginning to think, while not lightning - he's quicker than most give him credit for on BF - particularly acceleration-wise - I wouldn't be listing it as a major concern. Kicking at goal was a bit off today (snap from a stoppage in straight in front of goal which was touched and went through the goals, 2 set shots from straight out in front 35-45m out - both fairly regulation for Rich, 1 from about 60m on the run which just missed).

De Boer - Not his best day. Worked, ran and tried hard as he always does, but was beaten a few times 1-on-1s, didn't do much with the footy and just couldn't get into the game - again not helped by the poor performance by the whole team.

Cockie - Typical Cockie game - worked hard, despite not getting a heap of the footy - hard running, good defensive pressure/tackling, won a decent amount of footy in tight at stoppages, and showed good hands. Plays a fair bit like Jamie McNamara.

Richardson - Had a very quiet day. Again just not enough delivery for the Claremont forwards.

Broughton - solid but unspectacular game.

Broadhurst - good game playing as a FP/HFF. Took a lot of grabs on the lead, disposed of the ball well and kicked 3 goals.

Horsley - Very quiet game considering how dominant Subi were, but there wasn't a lot of work to do in defence.
