Rumour Waite

Probably a combination of all the things being said here...except for waitey being soft...uhh no he is not soft at all, his a vicious animal on the ground.

Hopefully, he'll get his fitness/form/mental stability back and return sooner rather than later.
One of the best defense in the league when all are fit/in form.

Thornton Jamison Walker (A.J)
Scotland Waite Bower

Thornton Jamieson Armfield
Russell Waite Bower

is better

Totally disagree with the above comment. If anything he should be commended for putting the team first to give someone who is 100% right a go instead of being selfish and letting the team down when he knows he's not right in himself. Nothing iffy about it and certainly not weak, if anything it's a brave and selfless thing Waity's done for the team. Remember it's a team sport after all

this...

Waite, like his father, is 100% blue... if he isnt 100% right, then he will not hesitate to do the right thing and drop himself to ensure that the team becomes stronger.

And I dont think that anyone would ever say that Vin was a wimp... ever!

He warranted being dropped, has played horrible. If this rumor is true then he has shown great maturity and has put the team first which is great to hear, I hope he returns transformed.

I think that he will... a couple of weeks at a slightly lower level of competition and not as much strain on the leg should see him pick up match fitness...

What I want to see is his confidence pick up again because I know that a lot of guys who have knee's reco'd are always a little propy when they come back...

waitey was on the sunday footy show last week in the handball comp. He has strapping on his good knee. Billy asked him about it and he said it was just a bit of swelling.

potential injuries aside, waite has been down on confidence/ form. He has a lot of pressure on him to plug holes at both ends of the ground and I think its getting to him. He will be much better off coming back into a team playing good football- pressure will be eased somewhat if we are less reliant on him.

Can't see how playing in the 2's would help him any more than playing in the 1s. Needs to get confidence at AFL level I'm happy to put up with a sub-par waite for a few games until he gets back into it.

As an employer, when someone comes to me and shares their concerns for their own lack of performance, my response is one of venturing into why they feel the way they do.
We'd then explore areas of deficiency and strategise ways of breaking through them but above all, I would give them the confidence to turn around and walk out of the office ensuring they don't feel alone in their battle.

If Waite spoke to Ratten in such a manner and was then granted his wish, then the wrong decision has been made.
Had this have been a 20 year old in their second year, no problem, but for a senior member to have been allowed to go back to the VFL does not smack of a supporting nature.

I hope this is just another BF, heard it through the walls of a physio office, story

Blues return a tall order

DUMPED Carlton talls Jarrad Waite and Bret Thornton will have to bank on the "Podsiadly Factor" to win an instant recall from the VFL against Geelong.

The pair were rated by coach Brett Ratten as only "serviceable" for the Northern Bullants at the weekend, hardly a ringing endorsement.
The club has also found a key defender in mature-aged rookie Simon White and has turned elite athlete Andrew Walker into a running defender who is capable of playing tall.
That combination of circumstances does not bode well for Waite or Thornton. And the club seems reluctant to tinker with a winning side.
But with Geelong playing three talls in Cameron Mooney, James Podsiadly and Tom Hawkins, the Blues may need to load up with tall defenders.

Not happy how they describe playing the 3 small forwards as a gamble, I would describe it as common sence and about bloody time.

I'd make no change but with three tall forwards it must be done, bring in Bower but if he fails then Waite.

100% correct that Waite asked to go back. Few high up weren't to impressed that Waite asked to go down maybe a bit weak.

If that was the case and Waite did get his way, then fitness given, he should be back in the side this week.
Not just for his confidence but for the fact we need him.
