If he gets a week for that it will be proof that the MRP is rigged. He will be able to use the David Hille defence in that he set himself to take a mark & then realised he wasn't going to be able to take the mark & therefore turned his body mid-air to minimise the contact. Ultimately his hip hit Bate, not his arm, elbow or fist.
I might add that Waite's hip actually made contact with Bate's shoulder, and not his head. I don't what Waite was supposed to do when he is in the air trying to mark the ball. It was a legitimate marking effort, and the MRP should throw it out on Monday afternoon.
