Would you walk if you snicked the ball behind but were given not out by an umpire ?

Given that Gilchrist walks when he is out does anyone at your club walk?

I think that the decisions have a tendancy to even out so I do not walk , but i would be interested in hearing peoples views on this particulary those who play in grades where the batting sides players umpire .

When you bat at no11, you take every chance you get

Unfortunately I have found I get given out to ******** decisions more often than not, so I will never walk

No, Don't walk. Umpiries are there to decide, as some one said. The decisions tend to even out, one thing though, If im given out and cleary I was not out I'll make a point and stand and stare for a while, then slowly trudge off.

No chance, I have to go when I get a bad one so why should I refuse to take the good ones? The umpires are there to do their job.

I actually got given not out caught behind when I hit it last Sunday and out LBW when I hit it on Saturday, so that evened out pretty nicely.

with real umpries i never walk, but the games i have played when your team mates have to umpire i walk if i am 100% sure i have hit it.

soon we will have to walk as the quality of umpires keeps declining.. koertzen wont give wickets to warne and the newbie from sa cant get it rite.. bowden and buchnor struggle nowadays and its common knowledge in the subcontinent that u dont even have to hit the ball to be given out..

Its also common knowledge it happens in Australia as well reguarly that you dont have to hit the ball to be given out caught behind

It always seems you gte more bad decisions than good but the law of averages means it would be about even, honestly who remembers when they have been given not out after a nick, but you remember a dodgy lbw, especially because its usually a teammate umpiring.

In backyard cricket I talk my way out of many dismissals as well, alot of caught behinds I didnt hit it or the ball must have bounced

As for the real deal, my main beef comes with runouts, so often there has been a mm in it and I have been given out by teammates, other teams dont give them out when they are out by a foot

What I think:

Walk if you are sure
Stand your ground if you are not

Simple as. It is just wrong to stand there pretendng you aren't out if you know you are - that is just CHEATING.

thats wat umpires are for.. they get paid to decide whether ur out or not.. cheating is using cough lollies to shine the ball or moving while the ball is being bowled
