My 2 cents worth to all Tigers supporters having a go at my club for tanking.
Round 1 2007. Richmond up by 27pts in 3rd q, lost by 17 v Carlton.
Round 2 2007. Richmond ahead in 4th q, lost by 16 v Sydney.
Round 3 2007. Richmond up by 22pts half time, lost by 25 v Collingwood.
Round 5 2007. Richmond up by 21pts in 2nd q, lost by 23 v WCE.
Round 6 2007. Richmond lose by 157pts. Who does that in this day and age?
Round 8 2007. Richmond trail by 30pts, level scores in last before losing by 9pts v Adelaide.
Round 9 2007. Richmond up by 18pts, 17mins into last q, lose by 8 v Essendon.
Round 11 2007. Richmond up by 13pts half time, lost by 21 v Freo.

Obvious that Terry Wallet knew Jordan McMahon would be available, and tanked for the extra pick so they could afford to get him. Tanked early & then proved late in the season (when they could afford a couple of wins) that they can in fact win.

cough...port...cough!!!

If after four weeks were 0-4 then he'd be already starting to feel a lot of heat, i'd imagine. needs a win in the first six weeks, if not two

Laidley season 2007

First 3 games losses
Next 6 wins
loss
win
loss
next 5 games win
next 3 games losses
next 2 win

If he starts off crap, it doesn't mean he'll do shit for the rest of the season unless the team is really crap that it shames the 3 stooges.

given the turnover of coaches this year your insights are truly incredible, you are an incredible thinker and genius of AFL footy

I can guerantee you that Wallis will see this contract out and be signed for more years in 2009.

You can't even get a grasp on how his name is spelt?? Working beautifully!!

Houdini was the greatest escape artist of the 20th century. I reckond Richmond's Terry Wallace now holds the title. With all the coaching sackings and resignations which started with Daniher, how did he manage to slip under the radar and escape a mauling from the media?

If Richmond are as poor in 2008 as they were this year, when do you reckon it will be before the media and the knives come out? About round 7 I reckon.

You've got to be joking,
He's been criticized almost each and every week this season, he might not have had as much as some of the other coaches because it's been a huge year of coaching problems all across the afl this year.
In any case, why do you give a f_ck???? shut up and worry about your own backyard.

oh yeah youve really set the world on fire down there with rhode and now Eade

idiot

How many finals has he coached you to? At least we've played 2 finals matches under Eade, and were coming from a similar position on the ladder that you were when Eade and Wallace came. 2 finals isn't something to boast about, but it's more than you've done.

As far as Rohde goes, well, at least we got Cooney, Ray, Griffen and Williams out of him

Dont blame Wallace when he doesn't exactly have much to work with. Look at the Richmond list compared to any other side and it's hard to expect them to win. I'd be blaming an embarassing recruiting department for all there blunders over the past 10 years.

Are the same personnel in the recruiting dept. still there? If so, why haven't a few heads rolled?

Another good opportunity to do a comparison.

Franklin - Tambling
Roughead - Deledio
Lewis - Meyer
Birchall - Oakley-Nicholls

120 goals total, 75 posessions a game between them vs
25 goals total, 30 posessions a game between them.

Its impossible to say how many wins that equates to, but i reckon Hawthorn would win maybe 8-9 games this year instead of 14, if we swapped those players.

So to just blame it on the past recruiting, and not current is a bit of a cop out i think.

Hey wait a minute - isn't that tanking ?

Oh, that's right its not Carlton - therefore its called rebuilding.

I think it is pretty obvious who tanked in the second half of the year.

Surely there has never been a club as shameful as Carlton in the history of AFL/VFL/VFA.

In fact. Can anyone think of a more shameful team in the history of sport without going back to the Nazis?

Terry's not in the Houdini class but he's a very good, "now-you-see-it, now-you-don't" stage magician.
