For what it is worth. Wallace sacrificed wins for a longer term plan.
Hey wait a minute - isn't that tanking ?
Oh, that's right its not Carlton - therefore its called rebuilding.

My 2 cents worth to all Tigers supporters having a go at my club for tanking.
Round 1 2007. Richmond up by 27pts in 3rd q, lost by 17 v Carlton.
Round 2 2007. Richmond ahead in 4th q, lost by 16 v Sydney.
Round 3 2007. Richmond up by 22pts half time, lost by 25 v Collingwood.
Round 5 2007. Richmond up by 21pts in 2nd q, lost by 23 v WCE.
Round 6 2007. Richmond lose by 157pts. Who does that in this day and age?
Round 8 2007. Richmond trail by 30pts, level scores in last before losing by 9pts v Adelaide.
Round 9 2007. Richmond up by 18pts, 17mins into last q, lose by 8 v Essendon.
Round 11 2007. Richmond up by 13pts half time, lost by 21 v Freo.
Obvious that Terry Wallet knew Jordan McMahon would be available, and tanked for the extra pick so they could afford to get him. Tanked early & then proved late in the season (when they could afford a couple of wins) that they can in fact win.
If after four weeks were 0-4 then he'd be already starting to feel a lot of heat, i'd imagine. needs a win in the first six weeks, if not two
Looking back at Terry leaving us was probably the best thing he did for us.. Thanks Terry!!!!

given the turnover of coaches this year your insights are truly incredible, you are an incredible thinker and genius of AFL footy
I can guerantee you that Wallis will see this contract out and be signed for more years in 2009.

Apart from why Wallace was appointed in the first place, the thing that has me mystified the most is why Wallace chose half way through his 3rd season to start his 5 year plan.

Houdini was the greatest escape artist of the 20th century. I reckond Richmond's Terry Wallace now holds the title. With all the coaching sackings and resignations which started with Daniher, how did he manage to slip under the radar and escape a mauling from the media?
If Richmond are as poor in 2008 as they were this year, when do you reckon it will be before the media and the knives come out? About round 7 I reckon.
oh yeah youve really set the world on fire down there with rhode and now Eade
idiot

Come talk to me when we lose 10 or was it 11 games straight!!
Big Red Lance next to throw on a Richmond jumper?
Dont blame Wallace when he doesn't exactly have much to work with. Look at the Richmond list compared to any other side and it's hard to expect them to win. I'd be blaming an embarassing recruiting department for all there blunders over the past 10 years.
Are the same personnel in the recruiting dept. still there? If so, why haven't a few heads rolled?

'A' win??? Maybe two in the 1st 6 weeks???? for the club's sake, lets hope they're aiming for at least a .500 record.
