If you buy tickets in the AFL members (M14-27, N13-28, P13-28 and Q13-27) then you may be asked to produce your AFL membership card along with photo id. If you can't produce it you will be refused entry. They will also note the ticket details and follow it up with the member who will be penalised.

Officially, that is the AFL's position, but when speaking to AFL members and people selling, they have told me that they have never been asked for proof of membership in the past 12 years, or so far this year?

I know you say 'may' but can anyone verify, but most tickets on sale seem to be AFL members tickets. Any member been asked recently?

Never seen photo id be requested in 15 years of going. Had the membership requested maybe twice.

I have never been asked but I have seen other people checked. Not sure exactly what they had to show, but I have seen people refused entry. The AFL are not very smart about it though. Sometimes a guy in a suit with a clip board hovers around one of the entrances and you see some people move to a different queue or come back later. I wouldn't trust anything a seller says, they are scalpers after all.

Remember:

• It is legal to sell tickets at face value plus reasonable expenses (delivery/postage etc) and we have no problem with this happening via the site.
• Be warned that if you get ripped off it is not something we can help you with.
• BigFooty is not an enforcer of the law but we do not believe it is in the interests of the site to become a venue for scalping tickets so we will delete the accounts of people attempting to buy or sell tickets for unreasonable prices.

If you want to scalp tickets go to eBay, they don't seem to care. - Chief
