Operationally what has this done to Hezbollah? If it mostly shuts them down the Lebanese government will be very happy.

More widespread than I imagined. Wifey works as a nursing unit manager in a private hospital. Haven't seen a pager on a doctor / surgeon there since about 2006.

I posted the relevant links on booby traps and other devices yesterday, in consideration Israel may have breached those specific rules.

Nothing on the Geneva Convention yet that I can find, unless it's about the weight of the explosive but we might be completely on the wrong track thinking there was any explosives in the pagers.

Not really. Israel has committed many targeted assassinations, covert operations, and attacks such as bombings in foreign States over the years. This technique is different but the intent, outcome and consequences are the same.

A single assassination would be difficult to actually pin someone on, I think this attack is different. It could only have been an Israeli government sanctioned operation.
