Toast Warren Tredrea - Elected to the Port Board (Football discussion only)

Been off BF for a while living live without remembering the bald testicle Hinkley and co. What the f*** binfire is going on here with our club.

Never ceases to amaze me anymore.

Staying off BF during the summer months is good for your brain, i've also deleted twitter, (X) - since Musk has bought that it's nothing more than a place to post your violence videos.... it's utter trash.

I can feel footy warming up though which is nice.

Koch and co have seen that memberships haves dropped and the forecast ain't looking great with the dissent of resigning hinkley.

This election will make us buy memberships again to vote but looks like we won't be able to vote. They know what they are doing.

Not everybody...

Deleted Twitter long before Musk took over. Set up a new account when he did to see what would happen. Deleted it pretty soon after.

Set up a Threads account and that devolved to the same shit that Twitter had so deleted that.

About to kill my business pages in Facebook due to the ridiculous amounts of spam that accumulate and Instagram is not really doing it for me either. Likely to keep personal FB due to friends and family overseas.

LinkedIn is a cesspool of narcissistic hustle nerds and overly enthusiastic sales reps. I'm about to kick that to the curb as well. (Found this alternative. Nice minimal online CV tool. Explore)

That leaves Reddit and BigFooty.

One a cluster**** of brain dead keyboard warriors who can't comprehend nuance or contrary points of view, wasting untold hours/days/years wailing and ranting into the ether for absolutely zero return... and the other one is Reddit.

If a Koch selected person beats tredders then this club is in bigger trouble than I thought it was.

if the majority of members are happy with the status quo and vote accordingly we might as well close the joint down. It will be a s**t show for the forceable future.
I should be getting excited about the year ahead - we've got a very good list, but I just can't summon much enthusiasm because of the idiots in charge at Alberton. I look forward to the day when we've got a decent coach, and a chairman who actually knows something about football.

Well this confirms that you can't vote if you joined this year.....

Thanks for sharing this. I inquired via email with the membership team before Christmas, and they wrote to me that "new 2024 [members] will not be eligible to vote for this upcoming election".
I've just followed up using your image. Interested to see what I get back.

If our Club is deterring potential members and their financial contributions because of their fear of Tredrea, that is unbelievably pathetic and probably a new low in professional sport.

Just received a response for those interested.

Membership team is saying that since the upcoming AGM is technically the 2023 AGM, so purchasing a 2024 membership does not make you eligible to vote.

I left twitter a while back. Having to sift through the avalanche of ads and 'suggestions' that I had zero interest in just to read the occasional intelligent comment from someone, drove me to it. I'm still on FB, but only just. I have about three 'friends' that I actually enjoy interacting with. A lot of the others are more interested in using it to make themselves look good, garner lots of ego boosting comments, or use it as a repository for countless boring photos of their daily lives.

It comes to something when BF is a shining light amongst them all 😂

That sucks. Anyone among you that had a 2023 membership absolutely has to vote for Warren, and if any of your friends and family are entitled to vote, get them to vote too, even if it means intercepting their emails and doing it for them 😉

The fact is, this is happening it's a full blown dictatorship...

This behaviour has to get out and recognised surely in media circles

This membership/voting thing isn't a big deal. Warren will still win regardless and it makes sense that new members wouldn't have voting rights for an AGM that's for last year.

I would've thought eligibility based on being a member at the time of the vote makes more sense than having previously been a member but what would I know.

Claims of vote stacking by the club mouth piece are absolutely laughable in the context of the fact that almost the entire board is stacked by whoever the incumbent AFL/PAFC elites are at any given time.

Does this mean that if you're a 2023 member but gave up your membership for 2024, possibly due to a frustration with one K. Hinkley, you are eligible to vote? Because if so this could be the backfire to end all backfires.

Can you respond with the constitution clauses I posted on the previous page?

Maybe, but this reminds me of the people who were like “cool it on the negative Hinkley stuff, he’ll be gone at the end of the year anyway”… Okey mete.

I jolly well hope so! After years of pinning my hopes on Ken leaving and having them shattered, I'm clinging to this.

Kids under 18 can't vote. That is both an internal club rule as well as an AFL rule.

I have to check the Corporations Act, but I don't think a shareholder of a company, public or private, who is under 18, can vote for any resolutions or for board members.

Sign up a pet then, get yourself an extra proxy vote?? ;):drunk:

This is me.

Was a member in 2023. Not yet a member for 2024.

If Warren wins Ill sign up. If he loses the Southern Power can go **** itself.

Only if they actually enact what they have gotten Rucci to say.

More than likely they will allow everyone to vote as per the constitution.

The Rucci article is just to minimise the amount of people who sign up just to vote for Tredders.

God forbid we get more members at the risk of having our only AFL Premiership Captain on board. Oh no!

I've said it before, but if we were scooping up premierships, this kind of bullheaded, closed shop behavior would be Port doing Port. But without the chocolates it's just dumb, myopic, bullshit.

Given you have to be fully financial for 2023, as at 31st October 2023 then yes.

Around the 25th January you should receive an email from CorpVote.

Well it has to be one or the other. If you cannot vote because you are a new 2024 member than your 2023 membership should still be valid.
