Was 2002 the worst draft in recent history?

the best 3 players from that draft are
1.goddard
2.mackie
3.selwood(wce)

Really!! I'd take McIntosh (he would go No 1 if you re-drafted today) Salopek, and maybe Jared Brennan (KPP) above those 3 easy.

Not much of a spine in either of those teams, would be a close game, I'd go with 02 but I like the smalls in the 03 backline, all quality. Sylvia should get a gig in the 2003 team, has done more than Schmidt and probably more use than Farren Ray.

Thats funny.... Theirs one team I cant see represented their from a quick inspection.... bar an interchange player!

The Pride of South Australia ;)

Schammer & Crowley has been a good & serviceable player for the Purple Horde. There are quite a few decent , if middle tier players inn that draft....
Nathan Van Berlo for the Crows is very good.

Lacks height but christ thats a good team with some vicious skills.

The 2006 team in a few years will be the best.

So many top end KPP's and very good midfielders, take Selwood for example. Then there's Leuneneneneneneeneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneneberger and the Tomahawk who will be the biggest men you will ever see in a few years time.

Those '01, '02 and '03 teams really underline how rare quality talls are. No wonder everyone was salivating over the '06 talls, and not surprising that teams were prepared to pass on class mids like Boak and Selwood.

Th players in bold are the ones i believe who all played this best football this year.

Other players who have proved they can play already.

The selwood brothers, rivers, staker, wells and goddard these 2 have showed glimpses of thier best, Will become really good players 2007 ruined by injuries.

24 Paul Johnson Dandenong U18 West Coast Eagles
37 Brent Staker NSW-ACT U18 West Coast Eagles
53 Adam Selwood Bendigo Bombers West Coast Eagles

Very happy with Selwood. There is a great footballer in Staker but we only see glimpses of it.

these are the players that i think have performed or are still performing for there clubs this year

malcheski, fisher and ebert were abo****e steals and the respective positions, their are some good players in that draft, not the best draft but i doubt the worst one

For the Saints

Goddard was a late developer and was doing quite well till he did his Knee. It will be interesting to see what Lyon does with him as I don't think GT did. If he finds the right spot, Perhap HFF he'll be fine

Furg will be lucky to hang on but Fisher at 46 again a late developer is turning into a GOP in defence although he is a tad small

The Bullies delisted Walsh today as a number 4 pick thats got to hurt
