This is it folks.

Was that fat bald diver Paul Chapman correct when he shot his mouth off back in 2004?

Are the Cats better than the Saints?

We once and for all will put an end to the debate this Saturday.

This is it Cats and Saints fans - what Chapman right? Or will he be proven wrong?

Re: Was Chapman Right?

I think he's already been proven right.

?

If the Saints roll the Cats this week, it will be 1 flag each, and 2 pre-season flags each.

The only real deciding factor would be the fact that the Saints would have beaten them in a GF.

How would that make Geelong better?

How about the win loss record since he said that?

Or the win loss record head to head?

Or 3 Grand Finals to one?

Or 2 Brownlows to or All Australians or ah nevermind......

The other thing that makes your irrelevant post even more irrelevant is that the St Kilda list has a lot of players on it who have joined recently.

But this will be a rubbish thread anyway...

idiotic.

so if Geelong wern;t good enough to make the grand final this year, it would have reflected better on them than if they lost?

How about one flag each, sepperated by three grand finals to one?

Re: Was Chapman Right?

We all know where Violent Stool sits on this question. The "fat, bald, diver" made those comments almost a generation ago when Grant Thomas was coach, and when Steven King was captain of Geelong. But if the measure of who is right is a premiership, or games won since the comment was made, then Chappie was right.

FWIW, I cannot understand why anyone would bag Chappie - he is a tough, fair and bloody talented footballer who most clubs would snap up if he became available.

So to extend your logic, in 30 years time will you still be coming back to that question?

Re: Was Chapman Right?

he said geelong was better then st kilda in 2004. did he say they will be better then saints in 2009??? 5 years is along time in football. right now saints are the best side in the competition. and after saturday they still will be the best side in the comp but hey geelong you won a flag 2 years back and are playing in your 3rd grand final in a row be happy with that.

Most clubs? Try every other club :thumbsu:

To the 'unlisted' supporting OP, the foundations of Geelong's successful team were already laid in 2004 when Chapman made that statement.

How were Dawson, Ray, King, Gardiner, Schneider, Dempster and Ross Lyon doing back then?

Saints team is completely different these days.

Chappy is dead right, media beat up was how good St.Failure's Kids were and so they should be with Kosi and Roo being picks number 1 and 2 in the draft, also got Montanga and Dal Santo at high picks.
Have the Cats got anyone who was drafted to the club at a higher pick than 7 (Mackie, J.Selwood) NO!!
Our Kids were better and they will have 2 Premiership Medals to show for it after Saturday, which is more than St. Failure have in there entire history

We have long memories - Geelong won the battle, but the war has turned in St Kilda's favour.

Pussies won't admit it, but they are shit scared.

When the mighty Saints win this Saturday, it will be a flag a piece for this era - with the bragging rights firmly in St Kilda's favour.

And need I mention 1 in 3? :D

This is Geelong's last chance at glory for a long time. St Kilda, on the other hand, have a great chance of at least competing for or possibly snaring another Flag or two in the next few seasons.

'Fess up, Pussies. This Saturday is going to be a very, very bad day for you.

All of your nightmares will come true amidst a sea of red, white and black. :thumbsu:
