No issue doing it for the WICL or whatever the warmup tournament is called but we need to be playing international rules in our WBBL. Openers have become lazy internationally by crabbing around eg Mooney and wasting our whole powerplay in the WC

Totally agree

The surge seems to skew performances of middle order batting options - as am example, the last couple of summers we've heard how well Laura Harris goes as a middle order option, her efforts in the surge overs etc, but she doesn't look close to selection for the national team

I'd much rather see the BBL & WBBL played under international conditions than unnecessary gimmicks

Mushangwe didnt warrant to be dropped.

Think there is room for 2 spinners in their team.

Almost like she's been punished for what happened against the Gades and not getting a hand or foot on that last ball in which we won

I know we had a couple of good overs against her, but that can happen to any bowler against any team, and for a young player it can be a good learning tool to see how they respond

Yep you have to as an opener use the first 6 overs that’s part of your job. What’s the point having girls going at less than a run a ball and crab for 8 overs before taking a surge when it’s not part of an international game

On the flipside is the impact for the fielding team - suddenly your powerplay bowlers and fielding restrictions are only being used for 4 overs first up, with the option to go a bit more defensive in the 5th over if things aren't going you way

There's not that early pressure release option at international level, and so as captain, you've got to work out how to best manage those dust 6 overs in the field

Wonder if there was any thought to having Dottin ready to go to bring her in during the surge should there have been a wicket or as we saw, an injury

She's definitely one player we see that can go nuts from the start of her innings
Dottin a more dangerous bat form wise than Wareham this tournament and the World Cup just finished for me. I would be tempted to bring her in next at 4.
