For some reason I wouldnt rule out the Stars here.......

I wrote the Thunder off today and they chased that down with an over to spare.

Ball seems to be a surface playing true, much better than the surface they had for the Marsh Cup this week.

That was really poor by Wareham - fine it was a no-ball, but she completely misread the flight of the ball and came charging in before trying to stick a hand up

If she stayed in her starting position, it was straight down her throat

It was interesting because those types of shots were obviously there to play for Mooney, Devine, Voll & Knight, but they didn't really seem interested in them - so it was like the fielding captains understood the strengths of the batsmen and that they didn't need to over defend that area

But tonight, maybe Sutherland understood it was a shot they'd look for which is why they kept someone back

My observation of fielding placements to the games ive been to , are some captains are happy to have:

3 onside: 1 off side

or

2 onside: 2 offside.

It depends on the captain. Captains are happy to concede the 1 and make the batters hit to the side with more fielders.

In the mens game , its usually 5 fielders outside the circle.

Wareham is one of our best fielders, so that doesn't cut it

She simply didn't react quick enough - the first ball of the innings she came charging in when she needed to hold, this time there was that moment of hesitancy which cost

And that was another bad drop

Capsey is coming up with the reason "there is a bit of dew around".

They should just come out and say 'we arent good enough and we dont work hard enough'.
