Sutherland is clueless as captain.

Bowling Deepti first and last over in the 20th over.

With Thunder needing 1 to win, she had 2 fielders outside the circle.

Brainless captaincy.

She's done similar with Deepti during the season - think it was against the Gades at Junction Oval where she held her back until really late in our innings before giving her her first over the match

They're obviously not going to change the captaincy now, but it may be something that needs reviewing ahead of next season

Think Lanning was in charge for that last over. Sutherland looked mentally shot after her nightmare 19th over

Bookmark right now. If Sutherland is captaincy next season, no matter what players they have on the park - bottom 2.

I don’t think the Thunder played that well tonight but Stars let them off the hook at crucial stages. And as sad sounds having Sutherland on the field is a liability .

If the Thunder host a play-off or the final itself, will it be held at Drummoyne Oval or will they take it to Spotless Stadium in an attempt to get a bigger crowd?
They haven’t used Spotless this season.

Probably : North Sydney or SCG.

Drummoyne capacity at best is about 1,500? With probably around 200 actual seats or so.

The only thing she has done right as captaincy is bowling Kapps over straight out. They have usually been able to get a couple of wickets , sometimes 3-4 inside they first 6 overs.

The Stats look too thin in their batting . Unfortunately their batting just hasn’t clicked this season. Don’t let that North Sydney chase fool anyone- it’s a belter of a Batting wicket there especially early on in the season.

I hate to say this . But she has too much on her plate: captaincy, batting as opener and bowling.

To say she is “cooked “ and having a million things in her head is an understatement. You have to remember she is only 23 years old as well.

Gades have gone with Will as full-time captain for this upcoming season - which sibling will have the better season?

Sutherland very much a see ball, hit ball
Kind of player. Give her more things to think about and she will crash.

To me , Stars need to look to retain Kapp next season. I’d even give the captaincy to her as she I think has done it at international level. Lanning is the logical choice as VC, if you can’t get Kapp for a whole season. And look to get 2 better imports. Yastika Bhatia was never going to cut the mustard. And if Deepti is only bowling 1 over tonight, your effectively playing her as a batsman. McKeon has only really had 1 good game and has been found out. Flintoff, McKenna, Reid too volatile to be relying as for runs. It’s been the story of their season, 1 good knock here or there from individuals but never a whole team performance with the bat consistently.

Need to look for 2 international bats or look to import a domestic bat or two if available.Kim Garth was the only one that looked decent with the bat tonight and that’s saying something.

I have a feeling Renegades management in the mens are under pressure from the top to maybe given him captaincy. Like the Annabel captaincy, it made be a decision that favours people in the top hierarchy or to save some peoples asses if the chop comes to play. Although his selection is a bit more logical as he has been in the system for a while, not in the current Australian mens setup and I think he has been in that squad longest after the departure of SOS/Finch.

And the standings after Game 33, the Stars become the 2nd team eliminated and you would be a brave man to suggest that don't get the number 1 pick for WBBL 11. And if they are desperate maybe they should ask for a priority pick aka North Melbourne Kangaroos style. On form they are unlikely to beat Adelaide or Brisbane. The Thunder have destiny in their control in terms of hosting rights, but will have to play alot better or hope the two teams beneath them have a slip up, in order to host.

To be fair to Wil he is Captain of the Victorian men’s team in both formats so seems a sensible choice.

With Annabel selectors need to decide what her various roles are otherwise a talented career could be ruined. At the moment it’s all over the place. Batting no set position, bowling no plan, plus captain of a team which has got worse over last 4 years.
