Here comes another one just like the other one but with live trading this time

With West Coast holding the golden ticket for this years draft after (another) season from hell, there’s once again heavy interest in the draft. Albeit that interest has been skewed to the No.1 pick - not so much who it will be but moreso which club will eventually hold it

Outside of pick 1 it’s still an intriguing draft with a clear top 8-10, another small group of perhaps half a dozen or so before a group of 25-30 with their own strengths but also significant weaknesses. It’s an even group with a draft order likely to be influenced by club needs over talent

So with that in mind, time to run another mock draft for 2023

For those wanting to have a crack, sign up below.

SELECTORS (Team as allocated)

1. Schtinker - Carlton
2. squashface - Essendon
3. bh90210fan- GWS
4. SumaGodCoach - Sydney
5. AsterixTheGaul - North Melbourne
6. Miguel Sanchez - Hawthorn
7. Bender_ - Collingwood
8. CountryLad - Western Bulldogs
9. eaglevision - Richmond
10. eaglespremiers - Melbourne
11. Monocle - Adelaide
12. Eastcoasteagle - St Kilda
13. ArdentEagle - Brisbane
14. Mop - West Coast
15. Carbine Chaos - Geelong
16. Keys - Gold Coast
17. Wooshaaaa - Fremantle
18. mitchzz - Port Adelaide

Teams will be randomly assigned once we get enough participants to start.

I’ll take Gold Coast simply because that’s purely a bid matching exercise and no thought going into picks

RULES
1. Time is of the essence. If this drags it becomes a lot less interesting. You have a maximum of 12 hours to select after you have been tagged. If you do not meet this deadline or if you’re otherwise delaying for the sake of it, I will select for you.
2. Please do remember to tag the next selector as the process runs much faster if you do.
3. If you are aware of an upcoming inability to take a pick, please PM me a few preferences. I won’t be participating as such so I’m no danger of giving away your strategy
4. This is a draft designed to educate the board on prospects. Please write some details about the player you are selecting.
5. We'll try to get it as accurate to the real thing as possible, so father-son and academy players can be bid on and their team can decide to match. Tag me in a post if you are planning on bidding for a player, and I will sort out the points/PM the relevant selector if they wish to match. As mentioned above, we’ll just run with the assumption Gold Coast will match the bids
6. Teams will be allocated by using the draft points as a ladder then drawing names at random to match 1st through to 18th on the ladder (skipping Gold Coast)

Since there’s less than a week to go before the draft it’s important this mock moves along quickly so if you have a life and aren’t on here regularly maybe sit this one out

Team allocations will be done tonight prioritising teams with early picks for those that sign up

Posters from the first mock are welcome to join again but will be ineligible from being allocated the same team

Not to the likes of you I’m not

Other people, sure

Jesus it's in the first line - sorry I missed that.

I'd be in if it was a straight forward draft but I don't have the academy & F/S knowledge for those teams concerned. Will just be an interested spectator again.

Nah, have a crack

Just pretend you’re like Dodoro and if someone offers a trade just say you want 5x R1 picks for your pick 158

Team allocations have been done and there’s two teams available for any latecomers- Fremantle and Port

Trading of picks is officially open for any negotiations to be done via PM

Mop you have West Coast so you’re up first when the draft starts at 12.00 noon or you can trade the pick if a suitable offer comes in

Let’s try to make this as smooth and quick as possible. Good luck to all
