Not enough sorry Miguel Sanchez - I'll just lock in my selection.

PICK 4 - CARLTON - SID DRAPER

FOS seems like the anointed one here, with his family ties to Sam Walsh, but I think Draper projects as the better player. Has already looked good in the SANFL seniors, has a good frame to build on, and is a dangerous combination of dazzling and professional.

Considered Tauru, but thought it was a bit too big of a gamble here.

STRENGTHS:

  • Agility
  • Clean hands
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Speed
  • Work rate

IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Durability
  • End product

The trait which immediately stands out with Draper is his turn of speed. He posted the top agility test time nationwide during the 2023 preseason (7.80 seconds), and it translates on-field where he is near-impossible to lay a hand on. Some of his best action shots this year feature him literally standing on his toes as he darts away at angles which defy belief.

His lightning acceleration makes him an asset in bringing contested ball to the outside. Draper's hands on the inside are supremely clean, and once he recaptured his usual touch as the season wore on, he got to showcase that kind of ability at senior level. He also uses his speed to take the game on in attacking phases, making carving runs through the corridor to set up scores.

Also, feels good taking him pick before Adelaide. You're up eaglevision

At Pick 5: Adelaide selects Finn O’Sullivan and I can’t type it fast enough. Would have taken him at pick 1. Brilliant on the inside and outside, his top age year was destroyed by unlucky injuries but his all round game is second to none in this cohort after two elite underage years.

Huge tank, fantastic overhead, hard at the ball, excellent decision maker and puts his teammates into space. Loves coming out the front of the contest with poise and kicks goals on the run going inside 50. Runs both ways and fresh off a very good combine demonstrating his strong athletic profile.

A great fit into any midfield in the competition and an absolute steal at pick 5 with an ultra high ceiling.

Knifey Spoony make someone a Demon.

At pick 6 Melbourne Football Club selects Alix Tauru.

Full write up tomorrow

I believe stallon is next up with North Melbourne

You can expect an incoming call from Mamma Kane informing you that AFL City Hall wont allow your pick.

At pick 7 North Melbourne takes Harry Armstrong

Next best tall on the board after the dees took the guy North have publicly been keen on. Long term partner for for Larkey, should complement Larkey nicely with his athleticism, contested marking and aerial ability.

Fills Norths biggest list hole imo

St Kilda will place a bid on Leo Lombard

Monocle do you want to match

Pick 8 requires 1241 points

Gold Coast holds picks 38,40,48,58 which is 1366 points and enough to match with an excess of 125 points

I may not be able to access from 8am tomorrow until around 8pm.
I'll keep an eye out tonight if I'm an early team and give Keys my pick/s

Sorry guys. Had my work party last night.

I was going to bid so that's perfect
Must have been an absolute Bender_ to be out from 8AM Friday to 9AM Saturday! Any positions opening up and who’s your guy?

To keep things moving, I’m going to assume Monocle matches the Lombard bid

And ArdentEagle has advised me that St Kilda will take Harvey Langford and Toby Travaglia with their two consecutive picks

Knifey Spoony you’re now up with Melbourne’s next pick
