I remember reading earlier this year that judd said he might just be holding the captaincy for one year and would give it back to cousins. im not sure how the west coast board would feel about this, or how cousins would feel about getting the captaincy back despite his mistake.

what would everyone think about cousins being west coast captain in 2007?

Cousins is captain as it is anyway, Judd is only captain in name.

exactly. they are more or less co captains now, may as well make it official. i normally don't like it either, but it kinda seems like it will be forced upon us. circumstances and all.

Trevor Nisbett (eagles football manager) is in today's paper sayng he hopes Judd captains the Eagles for 10 years and I saw something this morning (though I can't find it now) where Judd said he's keen to continue if they want him too.
I love Cuzzy, he carried this team on his own back for years and it didn't go unnoticed that Woosha and Judd called him up to the dias where Woosha stood aside and put the cup in his hands. Nothing would have been more deserving then seeing Cousins captain this premiership side but it wasn't to be.
Due to circumstances we're all aware of Judd is now captain and will remain so plus how many premiership and current captains do you know that leave their club and go play for another? (another bonus)
He leads by example pretty well and as he grows into the role it will keep him here and the Eagles as a whole will be better for it.

Judd has "Capt" next to his name to keep up a respectable public appearance for the Club, but among the playing group Cousins acts as the true leader and inspiration.

As Ash Hansen said this morning, "Judd does the glamourous stuff, like tossing the coin, while Cousins gets in and does all the dirty stuff, like addressing the team."

Why would they want to change the captaincy? Cousins and Judd have had sensational seasons.

Cousins has the best of both worlds; able to have an internal leadership role while not having the formal responsibilities and pressures of being the Captain. He can still be a Jack-the-lad.

Judd is perfect Captain material, the iceman. It was always Judd's destiny to hold the Premiership cup, it just came sooner than most expected.

Many people would say it always looked like cuzzys destiny as well.

Look I really feel that this Eagles captaincy thing is one big piss take. Judd might be the "official" captain but Cousins in captain in every other sense of the word IMHO.

Eagles pretty much "had to do the right thing" for the public eye earlier in the year but I have no doubt that Cousins still is and will be THE leader of that club regardless of whether he is officially captain or not.

And, like, winning the team a Premiership.

I watched the game out in the backblocks behind Karoonda and enjoyed the whole day...apart from the obvious need for BenCo to grab some share of the attention...and to have Woosha step back and call BenCo up and hold the cup with Judd says to me that Woosha also considers BenCo still captain.

Judd is captain now, end of story.

Cousins was eased into the role in much the same way Judd is now being. There's no p¡sstake, the club openly admits that Cousins' role hasn't really changed yet.

Judd was always going to be the next captain.

That was disrepectful of Judd for the coach to call the ex-captain to the dais to hold up the cup with him.

If Judd came to geelong, we'd make him captain and no one would undermine him. Come on back Chris, you know you want to.;)

It was actually common knowledge that if they won Juddy wanted Cuz up there with him as he felt he deserved to be. John Worsfold knew about the pre arrangement, so no one disrespected Judds role of Captain nor did they undermine him, it was something he wanted as Captain.

I dont know if Juddy would settle for pre season premiership glory when he can have full Premiership Season Glory!!!

Benny will always be "Oh Captain, Our Captain" in our hearts!

OH MAN!! I"M SO OVERJOYED AND HAPPY!! ANYONE ELSE??
