Been waiting for months to see Hughes, Reiwoldt, Connors, Edwards, Polo, White, Morton, Cotchin, Deledio, Foley, Moore, Mcguane, Pattison, Tambling all playing in the same side. It finally happened yesterday and we can welcome back Thursfield maybe this week. Would like to see Casserley, Graham and Collins get a game this season and I also rate Jacko too. Don't forget Schultz and Polak are still very young and have a bit of improvement in them still. Exciting future ahead

All of a sudden life without Richo and Brown doesn't seem so folorn.
The only we need to replace soon is Simmo. We really do need a good follower (don't rate tap ruckman) to contest the bounces and roam around the ground.

Putt and Graham are the answer to Simmo. I really rate Patto, pretty mobile and improving every season. He only seems to spend 1/3 of each game in the ruck so that would be a good reason he barely averages 10 hit outs. But he has improved every part of his game. Kicks a few goals now and gained distance with his kicks too

I dont think its any co-incedence that we win by 13 goals with no Pettifer, Tivendale and Hyde and Coburg get smashed with these 3 playing there.

Agree...

Edwards had a great game yesterday, propley his best.
Riewolt is the smartest kid we have coming through, reads the game knows where to kick it and where to run for a mark.
Morton is one of my favorite players - strong mark, great kick.
Polo is coming on really well, gets his hands free when caught and passes it off everytime. Always effective
White just gets better and better
Moore is the most improved in our team and is probley the best defender we have, people say he is a 3rd defender but i rate him much higher
Then there is Lids, Cothin and Foley - these 3 really get me going....but i wont go there.

Still so many more i could go on about and as you can tell im excited about the players coming through.

If we dont make it this year we will be there 100% next year. The talent of this list gets me excited:D

Like I've been saying all along...
It's the years after Richo & the likes of Browny are gone that will really be exciting!!
:thumbsu:

Did any one watch that game and think...."Where's Richo?"
More like....."Who's Richo?"

(Oh, the blasphemy.......Deliberate smacks himself *whack*)

And hence the penny finally dropped with Wallace after the Pies game. He finally realised that Richo needed to get out of there to give the likes of Hughes and Jack and Mitch a chance. We were never going anywhere with Richo anchored in the goalsquare. I want to see two more five goal hauls from both Cleve and Jack before the end of the year.

Great post tugg. Noticed more so yesterday than any time we've played without Richo in recent years that our forwards weren't afraid to play nearer our other forwards than when Richo is in the forward line. May have had something to do with the Eagles gameplan, and the stars were aligned for us (still don't think we're that good, just had a day out), but our forward line still gelled when congested. It may be because the big lad commands so much room, but crumbing options were abundant yesterday, ie the ball just didn't get run straight back out of our forward line if it hit the deck. The future could now be interesting.

agree all the way delib...no disrespect to the big fella at all but I had a feeling we could perform like this without his massive god-like presence out there. Doesn't mean I don't want him to play next week or next year, but the times ahead they are exciting.

p.s. i still love you Richo:D

im guessing you guys obviosuly dont play football or something but when the fu*k r u gunna realise how good richo is richo should be around for at least another 2 years hence the reason for puttin him on the wing an letting him roam so the likes of hughes reiwolt brown an morton can get a taste of what the big man had to do for so many years richo would be in the top 22 players ever 2 play at richmond easily. He did everything possible for this club an u #######s are tryin to say theres no room for him when he is in career best form either learn sumthin about afl or shut up give richo some credit i bet none of you people ran around the field fractured eye socket wen ur team had nothin to play for except a wooden spoon now his team is showing a bit of promise why wudnt u let him play

errr, read between the lines a bit mate. Basically no-onoe on this board thinks Richo should be put out to pasture, but we can't continue to rely on a bloke who is 33 to keep running the show. We all (99.999999%)love Richo to death but are merely pointing out that the young crop are showing that when he hangs up the boots, we will be alright;)

Hey Kid,
Did you get your pre-paid mobile phone confused with this forum.
I h8 whn lamz pst cr@p hr.

Richo's retirement thank you from the club is the wing.
It's all his to enjoy.

But we couldn't keep sending every ball into the forwardline through one player. It never works in the long term in today's game.

Understand?

Most of the kids you mentioned play 2 good games in 5, Richo and Browny are still carrying the side this season and will for a year or 2 more yet.

My grandmothers cat could have cleaned up the eagles this weekend past so I need to see a lot more from the kids before I will be comfortable leaving them alone to carry on the future of the club ...

Morton is one of my favorite players - strong mark, great kick.

I have to disagree here. I feel that Morton's great weakness is marking. He is not a one grab mark. He constantly needs two attempts before he secures the ball. On a number of occations yesterday he dropped what he should have taken. This is something that he should definately be working on improving.

Be careful you two, anyone showing disrespect towards Richo is seen as heartless on this board, trust me I know. ;)

Said the same thing last night and got labelled as a heartless and disrespectful F^&%?@!

Only thing was I went a step further and suggested we don't play him this week unless he is 100% right to go.

lmao RT, was gonna fly the flag with ya but...u know:eek::D

I agree with not playing him unless he is 100% right too, look what happened to Buckley in the last few years, if you are going to have another crack next year Richo, don't be too silly this year ;)

I gotta say , didn't miss him at all yesterday...though I still think people are going a tad overboard with this win given the opposition....but Richo has never been a sacred cow to me....I'll state on the record now I wanted him gone around 2003...and let's all face it it's only in the last few years he's really pulled his finger out...before that I don't think he knew the meaning of the phrase "second effort"...no player is above the club..they come and they go , I follow the club and the jumper moreso than individuals...whenever we have a gun I'm just glad they play for Richmond and can hurt our opposition rather than us......

Indeed.......just can't help thinking about what happened after last time we won over there and won big....we played better for a month but ultimately only came away with 2 points...and don't forget next week is Essendon who kicked an almost identical score against a far superior side than the Coolers...and as we all know..so-called "Big 4" clashes exist in a parallel universe all of their own....the week before ,and the form of the season are more often than not irrelevant to the result...

Welcome to the heartless and disrespectful club. :D
