I reckon people are getting carried away with the Swans. Already alot of talk about the loser of Richmond/Geelong going out in straight sets cos they will run into Sydney. Yes our form is good, yes we are better than a typical 6th place side. But all of Richmond, Adelaide and Essendon should have beaten us over the last 16 weeks. And to make a GF we likely will need to play all 3 again.

Essendon match up well on us, not expecting a comfortable win.

Adelaide by 18 - capacity
Geelong by 7 - 88k
Sydney by 16 - 39k
Port by 25 - capacity

It'll take a huge effort for Geelong to beat Sydney. You're also under rating your side, you're seriously good.

Yeah they're good. They're not the unstoppable machine that some people are suggesting. I'd have Richmond slight faves at the MCG if we meet in week 2. And Adelaide def faves if we meet in Wk 3.

Adelaide - Far too good a side in Adelaide and GWS really aren't offering anything convincing at the moment. Of the last 6 games they've beaten Melbourne, the WB Fremantle, and West Coast. 3 aren't playing finals and one side can't win on the road. They also had Fremantle run them to the wire. Theyve lost to Richmond and Geelong. Form just isn't great.

Richmond - I think they've got some momentum up now and are in form. Yes they haven't beaten Geelong in a long time but some sides just feed off the confidence and momentum and I think Richmond will win a close one. They'll also have the crowd.

Sydney - Essendon will give a good account for a half but Sydney are pretty sharp. Can't see them losing it.

West Coast - Don't rate Port. Eagles play well over there.

I think Geelong will lose and you'll get them in the semi. The only way Geelong can win if is their midfield can break even with yours and Taylor and Hawkins stretch out your defence. Menzel and Motlop would have to play blinders to beat Rampe and Smith. Selwood has to play.

Adelaide ????
Adelaide has never reached the Grand Final from a top 2 finish and are 1-3 in home qualifying finals. Adelaide has poor Thursday night record. Surely things are about to change, or will it be the same old Crows of old? .... A loss could mean a semi final vs Port or West Coast. Crowd: 48,000

Geelong
I expect it to be a battle for the first 3 quarters but Geelong too strong in the 4th. Geelong by 25. Loser could be out in straight sets. Crowd: 87,000

Sydney
I think the Swans will eliminate a brave Bombers team. Sydney by 12. Crowd: 41,000

West Coast
The Eagles have a good record at Adelaide Oval, they play their best football at the venue and will eliminate Port Adelaide with a close 6 point win and if they win, they could be back there for a semi final. Crowd: 43,000
Adelaide losing would be tough for them the week after. A showdown semi or WC who play well in Adelaide.

Richmond will get to wear the black shorts too, Geelong get the whites

Suits me. We won flags in '07, '09 and '11 in white shorts. We wore blue shorts in '08.

So if we do what we are expected to do this week and this is no disrespect to Essendon and Geelong beat Richmond on their home ground they start favourites the week after against us ? Again no disrespect to the Tigers as they have been good all year and thoroughly deserve their top 4 spot are playing well, and are in this finals series up to their ears but the last time at the MCG we gave them 6 goals head start and won not to mention losing only twice in our last 16 games and they start favourites ???? Be glad your not a bookie because you would be homeless.

They flogged us last time we played but we will be far improved if we play them again.

We were missing dangerfield, menzel, motlop, blicvas, cockatoo and basically only had selwood for 50% of the game.

They had josh Kennedy out whos obviously a huge add but outside of that were full strength

If it falls the way that we lose to richmond it will be a vastly stronger geelong team to face sydney in a semi than it was in rd 20. ( assuming we get selwood and cockatoo back). If we play them in a semi expect a very close game that could go either way.

Having said that if we do happen to beat the swans we would then probably have to head to adelaide..Definitely the tough side of the draw for the geelong or richmond loser.
