I was at the game, but I don't remember much of it, being 15-years-old. But I think East Freo were a bundle of nerves in the first quarter and Swans' big-game experience allowed them to settle down quicker. Then East Freo must have realized that they were in a big mess and worked hard to dig themselves out of it in the second quarter. Both sides had plenty of talent.
Ive attached the team lists from the 1984 WAFL Grand Final Budget. Quite a few past and future VFL/AFL players in both teams.
