Yes, AFL and Cricket are two sports that can see a huge disparity in scores from match to match. If you compare it with Basketball, Ice Hockey and Soccer (where the scores are relatively similar each match), it does make you think what a strange Sport AFL can be at times.
Best thing about our sport that we haven't copied from the States is that we count percentage, therefore teams are encourage to not only put their foot on their opposition's throat, but if they want prime spot for the finals, they crush them.
The anti-"running up the score" mentality in the USA is nauseating.
There have been two, both of them since Waverley was closed:Just seeing the Rich/Ess game this weekend, save for a rogue extra behind scored in the 3rd quarter by the Tigers, the behind tallies for each team would have been respectively 2,4,7 and 11 each of two. Has there ever been a game where the behind tallies of each side had been identical at all four changes?
Has there ever been such a disparity in scores between a team from one quarter to the next?

North against Melbourne in rd17 2000 scored 0.5.5 in the first quarter, then 11.7.73 in the second and still only won by a point!
How many times has a team won three quarters each by 3+ goals and still lost? The good ol days at whitten oval may have it covered

THREE FINALS IN A ROW:
In last year's grand final, a rushed behind to Fremantle at 22:58 in the fourth quarter made the scores Hawthorn 11.11 (77) to Fremantle 8.13 (61).
In Friday's qualifying final, a behind to Luke Breust at 15:55 in the fourth quarter made the scores Hawthorn 11.11 (77) to Geelong 9.7 (61).
In Saturday's qualifying final, a goal to David Mundy at 10:07 in the fourth quarter made the scores Sydney 11.11 (77) to Fremantle 9.7 (61).
Port had 8 blokes in their team who scored 2 or more goals in their last game and one of those blokes scored 3 goals. Is that anywhere near the record.

Nth Melbourne were the winning team. Answer should be:Once: Nth Melbourne R17 2000.
17.25 to one end, 2.1 to the other (including three scoreless quarters). I know where I'd rather be seated. Meanwhile around the grounds only Punt Rd seemed affected by wind at all. At Princes Park, Essendon led Carlton 1.5 to 1.4 at quarter time, scores were level at the other breaks (4.8, 7.10) and the Bombers romped away to a 40 point win. Here's a bizarre game played between St Kilda & Fitzroy at the Junction Oval in Round 16 1947:
Fitzroy 5.7 7.8 10.17 10.17-77
St Kilda 0.0 3.3 3.3 9.9-63
Besides the amazing symmetry by the Saints, they tripled their own 3/4 time score in the final term while keeping the Lions scoreless, but were too far behind to bring up their second win of the season.

Good one.
Would be interesting to look up (it's probably already done here somewhere) the games with the highest differential/proportion of scores to one end.
This one comes to mind for me within memory:
Goals to one end in the second term only. In total 3.3 to one end, 17.14 to the other.

The Western Oval with its cold wind and rain produced some interesting scorelines over the years, perhaps none more odd than a match between the Bulldogs and Lions in Round 10 1964:
Footscray 0.0 7.5 8.5 14.9-93 d. Fitzroy 3.3 3.3 13.6 13.7-85
1.1 to one end (1.0 to the Dogs, 0.1 to the Lions) and 26.15 to the other end.
