A bloke that a 3 time premiership coach doesn't want and a guy who can't get a game at Collingwood when they've got a mostly fit list and it only cost us a first rounder and the best half back in the game.... Let's get

howd he go getting the Suns up this year..? About as good as Dew and those before him

I have a feeling Luko will go to another level here. Not getting Watts vibes at all.

We paid too much for him based on his current resume, but hopefully he pays us back and some.

I am in the half glass full for Lukosius.

The problem is Hinkley going to set up a gameplan to maximise Mitch and Luko's strengths which is marking, speed and mobility and not contested marking.

I will say that a big gorilla forward would naturally complement the two of them. That player would come from the draft or Esava hitting the gripo factory or Lord coming on.

Also just so I can come back and say I told you so or vice versa, Luko will be elite for us. Could still end up being one of our greatest ever AFL forwards.

KPFs take time to come on and there is a reason he was the hottest property in the superdraft - probably would have gone ahead of Walsh for most clubs I'd say.

We've finally got some forwards who haven't been Hinkleyfied - the key is just to get rid of Hinks before they do go that way.

Still a lot of potential and I'm super happy we have him. He can take contested marks which is a criticism unfairly levelled at him. He's quite good aerially actually - just one-on-one body work isn't his strength, which is kinda expected with his body type.

Recruiters said they woulda picked him number 1 as a 17 year old in 2017 if they had the chance.

We just have to plonk him forward and let him develop and get consistency there. He'll him work in tandem with Georgiades and he'll kick goals. He'll also be able to go up the ground to be a link up player as he has the smoothest field kick in the league.

I hate the trade overall because of how we got royally bent over, but I'm ecstatic to have Luko.

Those comparing it to the Watts trade have short memories. Watts played well for us and we got him much older than we got Luko. Watts played under like 5 or 6 coaches at Melbourne and had his development absolutely ruined. If he'd gone to Geelong, he probably would have become the star he had the potential to be. We're getting Luko out before his development is totally ruined by Gold Coast as Dimma once again started throwing him around the park due to the glut of young forwards they had coming through that couldn't play elsewhere.

Yeah, what is it, a 3 time premiership coach will ruin his development but coming to an underachieving, soft club, will be his saving grace?

He'll be what he's always been and that means he'll play some good games for us and at other times he'll be spoken about as needing to be dropped because of non-competitive efforts.

He's not 17 anymore and being pick 2 6 years ago is nothing but a number now.

Every possibility he'll end up costing us a top ten pick and that's way more than he's worth.

Decent pick up without being stupid about it but once again we overpaid for people to come to us and people leaving got taken for not their true value.

It's the Port way and eventually it will have us down the bottom for years and years. A trainwreck in the making.

In a few years time we will be absolutely laughing at getting him for basically a future first pick only, somewhere between 10-18. He has enormous talent and is now out of that shit hole of a club in Gold Coast, which is a development graveyard for most.

Also don't forget next years draft is riddled with first round academy picks, so our future first is a high chance of being pushed out to the early 20's, even if we finish in the 4-8 range.

None of that makes the decision to trade back to back AA Houston for 13 and change ok

As much as I strongly agree with this, the Houston trade is nothing compared to the damage done by the decision to extend Hinkley and also not to sack him after another failed season this year.

At this point we have to just accept that our administration is stacked with either anti-Port people or completely incompetent people (or sometimes both).

Houston is no real loss disposal wise if Farrell stays fit and healthy and Boak is exiled to the magoos for a younger bloke with clean disposal to come on.

Hope Lukosius can hit his strides up forward, a 2 pronged leading attack, with a third floating forward is hard to defend if they all have an understanding of each other and leading to create space for each other.

Houston is a very good player but he can the QB seagull is easiest position to fill and we have it in Farrell.
