Wasn’t Teague looking after the forwards this year?
Interesting that he was moved on due to clashes with Yze in terms of gameplan

Wonder if he wasn’t really getting the players under him to buy into the game plan or undermining Yze if he wasn’t invested in it either

As a guy who was previously a head coach maybe he had difficulty letting go of being the one who called the shots

Little bit of tail wagging the dog
If it was the case glad they will both be in different colours next season

Buy in or **** off

Interesting that we are hearing players were confused or didn’t understand Yze gameplan.

Maybe Teague rebelled against head coach cause his players questioned it too.

Always two sides.

What I know is Yze has got to get his shit together.

Think it’s fair enough for the players to look for clarity or ask for input especially when learning something new but it definitely seems we had a little bit more than just questions and robust discussion if a coach has been moved on because of it

If for arguments sake Teague had his own issues with it but wasn’t just having those conversations in the tactics/ coaches meetings where those discussions are meant to take place but actually passing that disapproval down to the players under him that’s where big problems can occur

At the end of the day Yze is the head coach and was/is trying to implement a new gameplan into players that have only ever had one for their entire career and would of needed all the coaches buying in (or at least appearing to) as far as the players were concerned and kept that other shit behind doors where it’s meant to be

at the end of the day just about everyone thought dimma was a dud and thinks every other coach in the league is a dud, so I don’t think it matters who is in the deck chair they are gonna cop it, it’s the richmond way, trial by fire and you’re dead when you’ve left

unless you’re the most unsuccessful captain the league has ever seen in Chris Newman then you’re a hero 😉

I think we'll see more of the true coaching philosophy of Adam this year. last preseason he said the team would play with basically the same game plan. why wouldn't he with Martin, Lynch, bolton forward line and with Grimes and gibcus added to the backline. it worked OK at the start of the season. nearly win vs Carlton and a win in a high quality game vs Sydney. then all the injuries happened and having a forward plan revolving around Martin when he couldn't produce made watching difficult at times.
the game plan was in continual motion depending on who he had available that week. you could see the results with so many teams taking record backline intercept marks and so easily checker boarding us on ball movement
so this year it will all his plan with input from Blake and Steve. a full preseason trained game plan should help us attack and defend better. we also really need Lynch to provide team structure ( who knows if he can?) and add as much young top end talent as we can.
we still maybe in the bottom end of the ladder but seeing young talent show glimpses and a better game plan will make watching the tigers a bit easier this year. go tigers.......

I don’t remember him saying they would go with basically the same game plan , iirc he said they would make changes to it , can’t be ****ed looking for the actual quote , maybe his fan club on here can post it to prove me wrong

Pretty hard to implement a new game plan when you're missing half a side each week and 80% of the senior players you do have look like they can't be ****ed.

Bolton has never been an accountable footballer which is fine when the team is going well, but you get exposed too much when the team stinks. Yze came from Dees who have always spruiked contest and defence above all else. That's not Bolton's jam at all.

Buy in or **** off.

Yup, especially in these early years where Yze is still learning as well

Our SR players need to be willing to adopt a growth mindset and understand that right now it’s probably about going back to a lot of basics and players who had already established that trust under Hardwick needing to go back and earn that trust with the new coach

Open communication both ways but understanding that everyone needs to be working together as well and Yze makes the final call even if it hurts a players ego

Same goes for our coaching ranks as well

Listen to Luke Breust talk about the hawks this year. Thats what we need from the senior guys.

Is it at all weird that yze was appointed by a panel lead by gale and now Dunne is the new ceo? I suppose Hartley and livingstone were also on the panel

Bolton is more concerned about winning goal or mark of the year

Not at all? Why would it be? Gale was still CEO.
In other codes when a new ownership group take over they often want to appoint their own coach, at essendon Barham took over then appointed brad scott. If Gale already knew he was leaving should he have left the decision to the incumbent?

We are still governed by the same board except for the CEO and ultimately all big decisions need to pass at Board level anyway it’s not like Gale just picked it and approved it himself
