Toast Welcome to the SUNS - Ben King

For all the crap this board hangs on Ben King, he’s 2 goals off of leading the Coleman. He has to be doing something right.

He was my whipping boy for the first few rounds but has definitely changed up his game. Doesn’t stand around like a statue and always consistently moving around creating options

Love seeing him get up the ground and working back to goal. Doesn't need to be all the time but walter is a great match for King as he can also play deep or high. Starting to see him hit packs a bit harder also, which was something he was always good at pre knee injury but has obviously struggled with since coming back. Looks like he is starting to recover physically but more importantly mentally.

Kicked his 29th goal tonight and is now leading the Coleman by 2 goals! I believe it's the first time King has ever led the Coleman. Let's see what Charlie Curnow (27) does against Sydney tomorrow night and Jesse Hogan (26) does against the Bulldogs on Sunday arvo. Would be nice if King could end the round on top of the Coleman tally.

Close but thankfully in our favour that Curnow is 3 ahead after the Tiges game.
Three is very manageable. Especially considering we play North Melbourne in our next game and the Blues play GWS in Sydney. Would be awesome to see Kingy standing atop the Coleman tally this time next week.

Seems to be some rumours about Max King being traded, likely BS but would we want to entice him to play with his brother? We have the draft collateral to get the Saints interested.

The irony considering St Kilda’s complete unprofessionalism after the 2018 draft is quite amusing.

Quite happy with how that pick turned out.

Poor guy carrying a generation of saint supporters hopes and dreams
I know the draw card of playing in Melbourne must be hard to turn down, but you’d think Ben is pretty happy sitting in his massive house at Burleigh, playing with his mates and (hopefully) building a bloody good team, in the warm weather, on $800k per year, with very few people interrupting him day to day or copping much from the media, after watching what his brother has had to go through.
