Dempsey does not impress me that much.

He had a good season, but he’s in his 3rd year.

He’s had 3 full seasons of development go into him and he was not even a runaway favourite for the rising star imo.

Give me McKercher every day of the week for rising star.

Had he played more Joel Freijah should have polled some votes too.

I’d love Dempsey.
Would give Ainsworth a run for his money.
Goal assists
Goals
20odd touches a game from the wing.

Yet 1s on peanuts and the other on 600-800k

Clohesy has similar numbers in his first year. Dempsey is 3 years in a system.
Both same age….
Dempsey played 2 and 5 games each year before.

Dempsey kicked 21.11 23 goal assists this year

To clohesy’s 6goals 7 assists.

I do really rate Clohesy.
He will have the better of Ainsworth in no time.

Just realized this wasn't discussed in the Bodhi Uwland thread. Uwland was an unexpected Runner-Up in the 2024 Best & Fairest.

2nd: Bodhi Uwland (56)
3rd: Sam Flanders (55)
4th: Matt Rowell (54)

Does anyone else get the feeling that Bodhi is going to be our version of Josh Daicos? Not particularly highly rated going into his draft year, but starts to show signs of promise as his younger brother begins to get hyped as a potential star. Nick Daicos started getting hyped in 2020 in his bottom age year and Zeke Uwland has also been hyped as a bottom ager this year. Josh Daicos solidifed his place in Collingwood's best 22 in 2020 and you could say the same about Bodhi this year. Now they're saying Bodhi could be the one to breakout over the next few years and that's exactly what happened with Josh Daicos.
GOLD COAST SUNS

Bodhi Uwland

The runner-up in the Suns’ best and fairest this season, Uwland is not your typical eye-catching player. A lot of his work this season went unnoticed by many, but thankfully not by Damien Hardwick and his coaching staff. In truth, if you’re not noticed as a lockdown defender by viewers, it’s more likely than not you’re doing a good job. He is certainly a different mould to many others on this list, but all signs point towards him playing an even bigger role in defence in 2025 — which may just finally see him ranked with the competition’s better defenders. Further, Uwland will be joined in 2025 by younger brother Zeke, who is one of the highest-touted prospects at next year’s count.
