A few all at once. Good timing as wife’s finished Uni for year and eldest (she’s helping study for exam) is done Tuesday. Then ‘officially’ into gaming season to attack the backlog of unplayed games and expansions.

Kickstarter arrivals, all in for Dead Reckoning, Tiny Epic Crimes (who had a shipment stolen, that they tracked down and got back ), Scholars of the South Tigris and the Covenant expansion and Neoprene Mat (a bit larger than the board) for Return to Dark Tower.

Dead Reckoning is a great game, also has a great dice tower.

Have been slack with posting games arrived and backed lately, so it’s time to cross the Rubicon and get back to it.

Foundations of Rome (all in) arrived today.
With a decent storage system. IMO, you’ve become a serious collector when decent inserts for games make you happy. 🤔
Neoprene mat is also well done, in it's double sided. One layout optimised for vertical, one for horizontal layout, so suits different tables / player counts.

First of today’s two deliveries - Dawn of Madness (wave 1). Narrative horror game that is a prequel of sorts to Deep Madness.
Two years late, which is largely due to the amount of story for each of the four Wanderers (the characters going insane) grew, to now 70 odd pages of small font for each. Of course had to get the miniatures version and the Neoprene mat.

Any recommendations for lightweight/ party games that are good with a big group (6-10)? I have codenames which is good fun but looking for some others to add to the repertoire

Just One is a favourite of our gaming group. There's a word you have to guess, with each person getting their word to guess in turn (these are off cards with the words). Everyone else can given only a one word clue (hence the name). The hard part is if two or more people give the same word or variation of word (so clues like climb and climbing) those clues can't be given to the person trying to guess. The clue givers can't talk to each other, to say 'I'll do the obvious one!', so it can actually get harder at higher counts, as everyone avoids the obvious clues, fearing they'll clash.

If you aren't playing with kids or the easily offended, then Cards against Humanity is a decent choice as well.

There is a kids version of Cards too.

Jackbox is fun if you all have devices and a big tv.

A couple of Stonemaier game additions arrived today. Gears of Corruption expansion for Expeditions (more options, plus meant to help fix the swingyness you get in the base, depending on which random starting combo's you get), plus Tapestry neoprene mat (tried to get earlier, but always out of stock).

Also wife's latest KS delivery, Terminus, arrived.

Atomic Mass Games announced that Star Wars: X-Wing and Star Wars: Armada have ceased development, so while they will continue to support tournaments and such, no new SKUs wil be developed and all existing product has ceased production and is going OOP.

So, if there's something you always wanted, now is the time to get it, because a lot of it had already been out of stock for months or sometimes years, and it's not coming back :(

Another one we've played a fair amount is Word Slam. Two teams, of any size 2+. You've got a hidden word or phrase, but rather than you write a clue like Just One, you have a bunch of cards with verbs, nouns, prepositions and adjectives, which the clue provider lays out for their team. Both teams are trying to guess the same word/phrase, but they see only their teams clues.

However you can obviously hear the other teams guesses. The guessers on a team are free to talk amongst themselves. It continues until one of the teams guesses the word/phrase. There are various level of difficulty words/phrases to guess, depending on how much you want to hurt your head (or have drunken by that point).

Each word a different person on the team is the clue giver. The clue giver obviously can't speak or do anything other than put out the cards (except point at cards once exasperated and groan in frustration as your team keeps missing your blatantly obvious clues  ).
